Default Stillen CBE + Short Tails?

Hey all,

So context, I bought a set of short tails a few days ago, how ever when I went to install them I found out my car actually has a Stillen exhaust fitted already!

So to make these short tails fit I will have to have 2 custom mid pipes after the stillen resonators fabricated to line the flanges up with the short tails.

Has anyone here tried / have this combination?
What do you think this will sound like / is it worth doing?

Thanks!

In my opinion I would not think it is worth the project. Unless you are doing your own fabrication work and installation you will need to take your Z to a reputable exhaust shop. You can get any exhaust you like on you’re Z but on our cars I recommend staying brand specific and staying with one brand through the whole exhaust system. Both Stillen and AAM Competition exhausts have excellent fitment and top notch quality. What kind of a exhaust do you like? I would recommend you try to hear someone’s exhaust on their Z in person or listen to some sound clips before going forward.

Seems like a lot of work for something you might like and then be stuck with until you purchased something else. I also wouldn't mix and match to that degree like Quicksilvers said.

In my opinion, not worth doing. If you don't like the sound of the Stillen, I'd sell it intact. Once it's been modified, it won't be worth anything to most Z drivers. In your place I'd consider:

1) Selling the Stillen
2) Selling the AAM
3) Buying an exhaust that I actually like the sound of AND that will give me the power I crave! MOAH POWAH!!!
