Ok well, just to close this one up I think the issue was my exhaust leak. After we changed gaskets the CEL did come on that day but I think it may have been due to the engine running rich from the previous lean condition.
Since the last ecu reset, I've driven about 410kms and its been 8 days with no CEL so I think (hopefully) I'm in the clear now! |

Did you see the leak from gasket ( manifold to HFC )? I couldn't see the leak from there... Must I change the gasket ? What kind of gasket did you use? OEM or After market ? |

I couldn't see the leak but I could definately hear it. Especially on cold starts.
The gaskets were totally gone, one of them came out in 2 pieces. I ended up just using the gaskets that Berk have which come with the cats. (I didn't use them initially because I didn't get them so we put in some temp gaskets in their place). These gaskets should hold up now. They aren't the thick metallic type but they are good enough. Can you hear a ticking sound? or if you accelerate hard do you hear a rough noise coming from the headers/HFC area? Because after I fixed the gaskets I couldn't believe how much quieter the exhaust was lol sounds so much cleaner and better now! Last edited by evse82; 02-22-2010 at 06:12 PM. |

i just came from autozone and had this code pulled from my 09 370Z with 16,600 miles, stock with no aftermarket bits. nissan suggested i tighten the gas cap, and didn't have the time to look at the car today.
the unfortunate thing is that i'm installing MXP cat-back exhaust and resonated test pipes tomorrow... and Sutherlin Nissan was quick to jump to the whole warranty voided discussion... definitely not a mod friendly dealer with one of the service reps being quite arrogant and rude. the rep glanced at the printout i had from autozone and said such a code does not exist... i was like... wtf?? anyhow... i'm just gonna go ahead and install the parts... anyone know that car modification law off the top of their head by any chance? something "m" iirc...
