Mine get hot too. I have the full FI exhaust. I wouldn't worry about it to much unless you are burning something under the car.

Even before I did the cat delete and X and Mid-pipe, my exhaust tips still were just warm...as a way of comparison. From the responses here in this thread, it's apparent that there are two very different experiences with the temps of this car. Interesting...

I see how many people would think this is a dumb question, but based on the different responses it is becoming quite interesting. My buddy has an infrared temp gun..I'm gonna hit the tips with it later and see what they register at after a long drive. I cant imagine they are over 200F...

Koz, I think you should specify just how hot the tip is. Get an infrared temp gun, then you can really test the temp @ different section of the exhaust. This will help legitimize or dispel your concern.

Took the readings tonight after a light 20 minute drive, ambient temps about 60F. Tips read over 200F...it varied due to the reflection but anywhere from 190-220F. The inside of the resonated short tail was reading about 250F..Good thing is the bumper above the tips was luke warm. Also took a reading on a 2004 Santa Fe and the muffler tip was 250F. I wanna say that it’s normal...but have not a clue how some people are telling me their tips are getting just warm. Very interesting

So final thoughts before we lay this to rest..200F+ normal for tips? Should they be so hot you can only tap them with your hand. This is more a matter of making sure the car is running right (i.e. not lean).

Some of it depends on the design of the tip. Some are insulated, some have vents in them.
