PPE or FI header?
Hi, I am in the market of picking a header and I came down to FI header or PPE header. I see both offers Long Tube Header, and I would like to know which one has a higher gain or HP and which one seems to be louder. Hoping someone who owned one can give me some opinion on these headers or if there are other headers that can gain more HP. My current set up is stock header and cat, Tomei Y pipe and Amuse exhaust. It’s too quiet for me taste, but most importantly I am looking for something to gain more HP. Thanks for all inputs!:tiphat:
PS: i'm getting the topgunz A2A supercharger kit as well, so engine work is needed to be performed might as well install a header while working on it. |
I was told a while back switching out the headers you’re gonna need a tune and the gain isn’t worth all the trouble and money after all. If a little more volume and a few hp you wanted it’s cheaper to just replace the cats. No tune needed with test pipes or hfc.

Don’t listen to him. Its totally worth the mod, get mid range and top end if paired with other supporting mods.

Forgot to mention in the post, I’m getting a topgunz a2a supercharger as well, so engine work and time is needed anyways

I have the FI lth's. With lth, you will get more torque then with test pipes. You don't need a tune with lth, unless you have other mods. Both the FI and PPE are good. Both about equal in power. One makes a little more power and the other makes a little more torque. For sound. Both would sound the same. For loudness. It depends on your choice of muffler. The lth will make any system louder because of no cats.
To install. The right side takes about 1.5 hrs if you are slow. The left side is a PITA. Figure on 6hrs. |
You might consider Motordynes header options as well. They have multiple options : catted, resonated, or non -resonated.

Differences in performance should be minimal (unless you go with some off-brand). A HP or 5 isn't going matter for the vast majority of owners.
I'd look at things like durability, tech support, ease of installation, appearance, etc. YMMV |
