Default Beluga Racing axle back poor fitment

Recently purchased Beluga Racing axle backs for my 2016 370Z Nismo. Fitment is poor. Driver side inner hanger had to be cut off because it was hitting the mount. Driver side sticks out more then the passenger side. They over charged me on the shipping by $25 us. Gave me a $100 US refund for my troubles. Should have bought AAM.

Not for nothing but you can't be seriously perturbed or even surprised because a Beluga Racing axleback did't fit well. You cut corners when you bought it and though cutting corners can make things happen faster it won't always be pretty. Had you went Motordyne, Greddy, F.I. , HKS or any other company you would've spent more but you would'nt be having this conversation. And I'm seriously not knocking you because I ran a Beluga system on my old G37. I simply accepted the fact that I was'nt buying Tier 1 and I got lucky and my stuff fit but.............If you're unhappy now, wait till a couple months go by and you either pick up a tinge of rust or discoloration. Just saying that you get out of things what you put in. There's an old parable where a farmer is walking a path near one of his fields and saw a snake with a broken back. It wasn't any snake it was the most venomous snake in his area. Despite this the farmer took the snake to his home and over a period saved the snakes life by nursing it back to health. He then took the snake to the same area and placed it on the path so that it could be on it's way. As the farmer turned the snake bit him in the a$$. The farmer fell dying on the ground from the venom. He looked the snake in the eye and asked. Why would you do this when I just saved your life. The snake shrugged his shoulders and and said "You knew I was a snake when you picked me up." The moral of the story is that you knew those axlebacks were crap when you bought them.

Beluga and the other off brand e-bay components and CBE's are not known for their quality or workmanship. If you want a quality CBE, contact Fast Intentions or check the FOR SALE section as used ones do pop up periodically. You have a nice car, why sh!t it up with cheap crap?

While this isn't a Corvette, let alone a Ferrari, it's a thoroughly-engineered car that doesn't exactly come for chump change. And so you want to pair it with a ~$300 axle back from a company that doesn't carry any real pedigree, and for all we know outsourced the part and manufacturing. I'm sure Beluga themselves are aware this was just a simple means of achieving sound/aesthetic, and therefore wouldn't be so invested into making it absolutely refined.

I don't want to bash the brand or buyers. I get that one's trying to do business and the other is acting on a budget, but there needs to be perspective on the expectations that come with this.

Even if you didn't go high end for a CBE or FI parts for ~$150 more than your beluga, you could of gotten AAM Short Tails. I've seen plenty of videos and posts on these forums of people running them.

Had you done a little research, you might have saved yourself the hassle of a low quality exhaust. I'd dump that garbage exhaust asap. Who knows what other issues you might encounter down the road.

For example...

Yes you should have done your research before you decided to purchase a exhaust set up for your Z as exhaust components for our cars are not created equally. I have heard the horror stories of the Beluga Racing axle back exhaust long ago.I can’t imagine your exhaust coming apart while you are driving your Z and people complaining about poor quality. I would throw this Beluga Racing axle back exhaust in the garbage or recycle it for scrap metal and then purchase a different brand exhaust for your Z. I have installed five AAM S Line Short Tail exhaust kits in the past and they are excellent quality and with great fitment as well. In my opinion the AAM S Line Short Tail exhaust is one of the best sounding exhausts for our cars I have heard. Before you choose a exhaust try to hear different exhausts on other people’s Z’s and try to hear sound clips of different exhaust set ups for our Z’s.

I had a pair of those. The fit was fine after I cut off the single inner hanger, which serves no purpose by the way.

The sound was horrible though. Tons of drone and resonance. It was causing my interior to vibrate itself apart. I removed it after an hour and sold it the next day. Lesson learnt.

You're all wrong. Beluga is fine. Matter of fact, I just ordered axel back for the nismo. They are all made in the same factory, by the same people. If you have done your research, you would all know this. Quit hanging onto these company's nut sacks because of the NAME! They do advertising, and pay to have their name brand out there, so they must charge 4x as much to recoup money spent on advertising and all the other crap! Ask any muffler fabricator/welder in Taiwan and they will tell you the truth.

I'd like to add... there are just as many people with fitment/quality/weld and sound problems with many other exhausts. The big thing is, people that spend $2,000 on an exhaust, tend not to complain as much as someone that spends $300.

Some of these companies spend more on quality control as well. Sometimes a bad one slips through with ANY brand. FACT!

Exhausts are exhausts are exhausts. You look for material/weld quality/design and sound. Welds break sometimes. Sometimes things sound like **** on one car and not another. Sometimes parts don't fit together correctly! Ever built anything that was made in Taiwan or China...my point exactly!

Here's a clue... don't buy a muffler from ebay ...buy directly from the company that makes them! There are way too many knock off exhausts going around.

Not sure why this forum sounds like a bunch of highschoolers bickering on the playground?

Buy what you want...give your advice on facts only. Opinion doesn't account for ****!

I don't give two squirts of piss about opinions..I work on facts only. I liked the sound of the exhaust and the countless good reviews from all over, not just this site. Price to quality and sound is where it's at, and believe me, I can afford to buy what I want! If mine ***** up and breaks after a year, I'll send it back and get it replaced (1 year warranty) If I blow $269.00 after a year and get something else... I believe I got my money's worth!

Inflaymes, "if opinion doesn't account for ****", then why are you here giving us yours???
FACT: you get what you pay for!
I do agree with you, buy what you want and can afford.

I’ll have to say ..I bought a beluga axel back for a 2015 nismo ...figment was perfect sound was good other than really loud ....only thing I had to complain about was the rattle from the hatch motor ..but once I took it out and greased the gears rattle stopped and everything sounded good ...just too loud .....with that being said I also bought the aam short tails .....sound was more or less the same

Because it's not MY opinion...it's factual information on the exhaust. Me saying I liked the exhaust because of the sound/price/quality is my opinion.

Price does NOT equal quality. Case in point... I own 15 guitars. Most expensive was $4500. Least was a couple hundred. I have a $400 Les Paul Custom copy that beats the shiz out of actual Les Paul. Same schematics, same wood, same parts...just no advertising and overhead. This marketing scheme applies to ALL products. I was in advertising and graphic design for over 25 YEARS.

Op just curious if You installed with buddies (which is an easy task also) or if you had a professional muffler shop do the work. Only reason I ask was because the group of people I drive and meet with all use the same mechanic and he was always able to make them line up flawlessly be it high dollar or the cheaper route. Either way if it doesn't make you happy swap it out! Good lucj with your new choice man!
