I'm guilty for wanting it only for the sake of aesthetic as long as there's no functional downside.

Got the final version printed, painted, and put together.
Was experimenting with a few different post processing methods so the finish has some flaws. Don't judge that too critically.

Going to be getting it on the car and then onto the dyno to see if this thing performs as good as it looks ASAP.

Have some meeting over the next week with various manufacturers so that I'll be able to get the official pricing and timeframe of when these will be available for purchase.

Feedback is welcome so what do ya'll think?

Whoa, that looks great man! Any current pictures of it in the engine bay?

It looks great. One question for me at least, will it out perform the oem level at the same psi. ( forced induction).

ANMVQ 08-09-2018 02:47 PM

Damn man looks awesome, really hope we see something on a N/A car. I'd loved to have this under the hood, No more engine cover!!

From a mathematical and design standpoint, it has greater volume and better flow so I am expecting it to make a bigger difference on FI setups than NA setups but we will see when I get it on the dyno this month.

kbc749 08-14-2018 02:06 PM

Subbd for results!

andy_meng1024 08-14-2018 03:25 PM

Wow this looks awesome. If the result is good I'm in for a few.

solidus 08-14-2018 03:49 PM

I volunteer to be a control subject with my new build, this might help me get that 700 on pump I'm looking for combined with C2's and 10:1.

ANMVQ 08-29-2018 01:05 PM

:drama:Anything yet

bmstitt 08-30-2018 10:34 AM

I check every day to see if there's an update, tbh

Cpt. Obvious 08-30-2018 02:20 PM

Waiting on someone in Las Vegas to actually follow through so I can do the test fitment. Hotrodz is going to help next week if I can’t find anyone sooner.

I have been working on perfecting the mold so I can produce more of these in less time but also need to round up more investment capital to get the needed equipment but I have a pretty solid lead there.

Cool but who are you using for a NA car? I'm NA and would hope to see a NA car before and after dyno?

I have someone with a stock NA car I’ll be testing on as well. The last of the materials should be here tomorrow to get a testable version put together.

If you don't end up finding someone NA to test it, feel free to hit me up. I have a dyno and my Z is already almost maxed out NA at 330 whp (no headers though)

I'd like to be in for one of your first production or pre production to see how it does with boost plus cams.

PIC UPDATE:

Got the intake installed a few weeks ago and haven't had a chance to upload them cause a unexpected medical emergency. That same event took all the funds I had to finish this.
It sucks that I'm about 90% ready to go into production and then ran into this hurdle.

I still plan on finishing this as soon as I can get the funds to complete it.

Everything fit pretty well in the test fitment. Just have a few minor tweaks to make.
In contact with a few potential investors to try and get everything done ASAP.

Hope to have good news soon.

Rusty 09-17-2018 10:52 PM

Looks good.

NorthStyle 09-17-2018 11:48 PM

Looks amazing!! So big question: how does the car feel in terms of power/responsiveness vs. without it?

I just spent the whole week at Sema networking with some manufacturers and got some promising contacts for aluminum casting and carbon fiber. I’m sending them the designs and then we’ll work on getting a functional prototype and then move into production. Don’t have an ETA yet but as soon as I know I’ll pass on the info.

To get something casted takes a while. You get put at the back of the line. If you need it sooner. Pay the money to jump in front of someone else. The more money, the farther up in line you go. Been there. :shakes head:

The wait to get the first prototype will only be a few weeks but to do the tooling and get the production version ready will be where the longer wait comes in but it's about 3-4 times less than waiting for China injection molds. Doing everything I can to work my way up the line quicker.

That mock up was printed in cheap, weak material mainly for fitment purposes but I made some improvements on that design and am printing it in the good stuff now which I should be able to actually test on the car.

abm89 11-09-2018 10:23 AM

I have no reason to go for this mod, but this is an interesting project!

Kojack 02-06-2019 07:50 PM

chuckie311 02-10-2019 03:50 PM

Have been distracted by work and other projects lately but I've gone through and made changes after the first test fitment and now I just need to get the new one printed and get it put on. I'm hoping that this one will be good enough to start working on production.

Thanks man. I might be in touch in the next few months.

What about just a 3d printed lower to accept the R35 upper?

That was my original plan. Had a lot of fitment issues so I need to get my hands on the RJM adapter if anyone has one I can borrow, let me know.

Doing r35 upper will required a new fuel rails set up, also it's been reported more on losing power wise in upper range and people swapping back to stock waffle and gained more. Only issue with stock is that they may only handled max boost roughly 25-28 psi.
