What are your thoughts on the Borla Exhaust?
Hey guys, I am looking for a decently priced exhaust thats not too loud but still has a noticeable tone and came across Borla.
What re your thoughts? Any other suggestions for other exhausts out there with no drone on the highway? How does it compare to HKS? Thanks! |

Unfortunately exhaust notes are subjective. While I have not experience with Borla on this platform, I do have some experience with them in the past. They make quality products. The best bet for getting an exhaust that you will be happy with is meeting up with local members & comparing what they run. Audio clips only do so much. Seeing / hearing it live is the best bet to get what you want.
Good luck

After your Z meet, update this thread, as I am also interested in a Borla exhaust.
I'm not interested in a loud exhaust, just better than stock! And absolutely NO DRONE ! Thanks |

Do not have any direct experience with a Borla on our cars.
I did have a Borla on 2 cars I previously owned. Got to say the quality&fit were great(vehicles were a Taurus SHO& Suburban). Biggest problem was the Borla was LOUD. Had a drone. Borla markets "quiet at idle" etc. Well,at certain RPMS it too loud in the cabin. Put some rear resonators on to soften the noise. |

I got the Borla exhaust for my 2016 Z. Wasn't loud enough. So when I got my 2017 Z I went with Magnaflow. Better, but still nowhere near as loud as my Eclipse was. At least I don't set off car alarms any more.

My Z had a Borla on it when I bought it. I like it. It is definitely louder and deeper than stock. With stock cats, it is mild. I found with the ART pipes, it had too much drone. Sounded really nice WOT,but around town driving was a bit much after awhile. I swapped out the ART pipes for FI RHFC and found my sweet spot.
Here are some comparison videos. I don't have any with the FI cats.

After hearing the warmed up Borla I must say it is perfect if you don't want a very loud exhaust on your daily but still have a significant growl at higher RPMs. I personally loved it especially because I don't want a drone and don't want something thats ridiculously loud. You can also get aftermarket cats if you want to go louder. Heres the video of the car who I met. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSMj_XSzgSk |

I don't want it loud, can't stand drone, but want a better note at idol, and some noise at WOT. |
