Default Just installed Stillen CAI, got some codes

Hey guys, I just got my Stillen CAI today, and went ahead and installed it. After I finished, I tested the car, it ran smoothly, no issues.

When I got home, I ran Torque to check for codes, and got P0101 and P010B.

Then I popped the hood, and noticed a weird hissing, which I'm unsure if it's normal or not. I made a video of it, you can hear it clearly:

What do you think?

It sounds like air is escaping. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me, but it looks like a breather hose on the passenger side intake isnt connected properly. Not saying that is the problem, but is everything connected?

Those codes indicate a problem with the MAF sensor(s) and/or circuitry. First step would be to remove the sensors and clean them with some MAF cleaner and see if that helps.

Here are some pics of the breathers.

I'm unsure if the hose is supposed to cover that part marked in red (Passenger side).

Also another thing, for the clamps that attaches both tubes together on each side, I didnt quite fully tighten them, as they seemed to go forever and looked pretty secured, and didnt want to bend the tubes. Are you supposed to tighten those all the way down?

This. At some point during the install the mass air flow sensor could have picked up some contaminants. They are quite sensitive.

I agree with you. However the fact that I hear the hissing makes me think there might be a leak in the intake, causing the codes. Waiting for someone to check the breather pictures I posted, I have a feeling those hoses are too long. The one on the passenger side looks kind of bent-ish. I'll try to mess around with it this afternoon.

Your breathers look Okay

The engine sounds pretty normal unless it was idling higher than normal?

Reset the ecu and check to see IF you either get an abnormal high idle or a cel.

If you get neither its fine.

More than likely the sound you hear is because the intake air is not being masked going thru the intake boxes anymore.

Thanks for checking. What's a normal idle? Car is idling at ~650 (no AC), and I got a CEL. I can hear clearer the high pitch noise at low rpm.

Check out this other video, at the end I turn off the car, you can hear the noise perfectly clear for a couple seconds:

So I cleaned both MAF sensors, and reset the ecu (disconnected the battery). CEL went away, but when I run Torque, I still see the codes there, not sure what the status means:

And of course, hiss still there.

Most common causes of those codes are: dirty MAFs and air leaks. Google is your friend.

Since you've cleaned the MAFs, look for an air leak. While the engine is running, hold one end of a paper towel tube (or similar) to your ear and move the other end around near the intake piping to locate the leak. Follow all safety procedures when working near a running engine.

Edit: If it's not a leak, then check the wiring going to the MAFs.

If the CEL is gone, but the codes remain, does it mean that they will disappear eventually, or do I still have an issue?

Clear the DTCs (your reader should be able to do that) and see if they return.

I did that with Torque, but when I rescan for them, they show up in green, like the last screenshot I posted. But no CEL.

They were permanent codes therefore when you clear them it will show as history codes which is normal. They should go away completely after few drive cycles as long the original cause is fixed.
