One guy on here installed one recently and I think it was one of his resonators had popped a weld. http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...aust-ding.html

That's me. Since having the resonators replaced, I haven't had any issues with the exhaust. I really like the tone and it's high-flowing as well.

When you say high flowing, have you had it dyno'd or is that just your impression from driving it? Keen to understand how rwhp compares.

Unlike most folk I really like how quiet the OEM exhaust is at city and highway speeds so I can talk to passengers, enjoy music, not get headaches etc. I'd just like something with more noise and power for back road high rpm driving. Don't know if such an exhaust exists but thinking maybe Nismo would do that.

Also can you describe the sound it makes? - I don't really like the exhausts that give the Z a 'trumpet' type sound. Prefer the 'Mercedes AMG' type sound of a Borla (but which doesn't look as sharp as this Nismo R exhaust).

Thanks for your time if you see this and reply. Sorry for all the questions, I just couldn't see anything on Youtube about this exhaust.

I haven't had it dynoed yet as I'm in the process of datalog tuning; however, the R-Tune exhaust is a performance part so it is high-flowing and less restrictive than OEM. The exhaust has a really nice tone, I think, and it is pretty damn quiet in the cabin at cruising speeds with no drone. When you get on the throttle it growls quite nicely and it doesn't sound anything like a trumpet. I haven't been able to get a video of the exhaust posted yet but will try soon.

I did have an issue with the exhaust right after it was installed. One of resonators blew a weld and would make a really loud "ding". Once we figured out the issue, I had the shop just change out the resonators with the ones from my stock exhaust and problem solved. The only "negative" about the exhaust is for it being a NISMO part, the exhaust tips are really small in diameter and will not fill up the bumper cut-outs on a 2015+ NISMO (not sure about 2014- model NISMOs).

Thank you, I really appreciate those insights. I'll keep an eye out just in case you get the video up before I make a decision.

Anyone else get a video of this thing yet?

Also looking for a video or picture of this installed.

I imagine it's quieter on stock cats, but that actually sounds pretty nice imo.

OEM Nismo vs Nismo R-tune

I believe the OEM Nismo exhaust is 2.25" while the R-tune is 2.5"

I believe the muffler is more direct as well when it comes to flow path.

It's going to make more power over stock. I'm going to get mine tuned with Z1 intakes, header, and test pipes. I'll let you know what I put down.
