I used a pair of tin snipes and cut up the heat shield to get it out. I removed the drivers front tire and when through the gap between the frame and fender liner to get to some of the nuts. Others I used my calibrated torque meter in my elbow. No leaks after about 3yrs.

I removed the exhaust manifold and cats as one piece. This way, I didn't have to mess with the demon bolts.

I slipped a small screw driver into the plug right where you have the arrow.

Glad to help. The only problem I had was the fricken heat shield. Trying to take it out once I had it unbolted.

One thing you might want to do. Relocate the plugs for the O2 sensors that are mounted on the tranny. I've broken both of them hitting road kill. Got them taped and zipped tied together.

Sometimes you don't have a choice on a back road.
