The bending dyes are here! We are currently indexing the bends. This takes time and I ask everyone who has delivery date questions to hold them. As of right now we plan on shipping the week after next. It all boils down to how smooth the index process goes. We have gone to a six day work week to try and get this rolling.
As soon as I feel they are ready to go into production and I can gauge how long a set takes to build, I will start notifying you one by one. If you are on the list, you know what order you are in.

I will keep you all posted as soon as I have more to report...

Thank you, Tony

Damn Tony! Anymore work and you're going to have to get Elves to Help! :bowrofl::roflpuke2::bowrofl:

:excited::excited::excited:

How many sets will you be shipping out a week (just an estimate)?

UPDATE-
If that is the case, I should have the tooling within 2 weeks from today.

From there we need about 2-4 days to play with it and get all of the bends and rotations down. Once we have everything indexed, we will begin production.

The first set of fixtures/jigs will be completed by the end of today and I hope to have the second set of fixtures/jigs completed by the middle of next week. The reason we have decided to build 2 sets is to (Hopefully) speed production up! Obviously I have not built a production set yet. So, I can only try and calculate how long it will take to build each set. I am (hoping) that 2 people can produce 3-4 sets a day. We will not be working on them every single day due to the fact that we only have 4 people including (me) and we are almost two months behind just on cat back builds. I would like to have 5-8 sets mailed out every week if possible.

Here ya go :tiphat:

Hey Tony,

Will you guys be making any headers that end where the stock cat starts?

Would be nice to get a streetable set.

vipor 03-20-2010 12:55 PM

Stillen makes some shorty headers

OEM headers are pretty good themselves making short tubes upgrade not even worth the headache

Suh-weeeeeeeet!!!

F.I. Inc. 03-22-2010 05:09 PM

Kolya's car is here! The manifolds are off and after lunch we will have the headers on! We went to the dyno this morning and the car made good power. 315 RWH peak and 254 FT LBS of torque! (STD)

I will post all of the dyno charts tomorrow evening after we get back from the dyno. What I can tell you is that with the combination of the Stillen Gen III intakes on the car with our HFC's and cat back, it is running too lean in the mid range. These cars need to live around 12:6-13:0 A/F! If they are too lean it will actually rob power. No biggie as long as you plan to tune the car for the intake and other mods.

Bottom line is this, when we put our prototype test numbers across the numbers from today the first car made more peak torque, mid range power but less top end. The only two differences: the prototype car did not have aftermarket intakes on it and because of that the A/F was right where it needed to be. In short this is why we made more across the board. Like I said, today we made more top end but not everywhere else!

All will be well tomorrow when we go back with the headers. We will do our best to get the A/F richer in the mid range to bring the curve where it needs to be. As far as timing, the car has alot already so we don't want to go overboard there!

Thanks, Tony

Tony, after someone comes to get a LTH + CBE Install, do you reccomend immediately going to get dyno's + tune done, or is that something that you will do in house as part of the install?

as I am a complete noob.

wtf are long tube headers.

I mean I know how they look like but I cant really figure out what they do

They are headers that bolt both onto the engine, and then straight on to a 'Cat Back Exhaust'. Also known as a 'Cat Delete', since they take up the space the Cat or HFC would go as well due to them being longer than normal aftermarket (say Stillen) headers. They give you the cleanest path for the gasses to flow from engine to rear bumper. That = :excited: when you floor it.

I can say first hand from the experience with my tC. When I put on the cat delete header, you could Instantly tell with the butt + seat test. And as for sound, it REALLY opens up your exhaust. It will come with alot of rasp, so you wanna have some decent resonators to minimize that. (My tC has 2 now.)

But you can definately see a difference in the driving experience, and based on my previous experience alone, I would highly reccomend them. It isn't legal everywhere, so if you get emission tested, make sure to keep your stockers. Although installation/removal can be time consuming without the proper tools. But not impossible.

so they are something like an alternative to HFC and test pipes but even more hardcore?

mmm interesting

Both Resonated Test Pipes and HFC's bolt To the restrictive stock headers. And both still have some sort of material to deaden (restrict) the flow of gasses and therefore noise.

LTH's will be completely smooth all the way from engine flange to CBE Flange. Whatever comes out of the engine has a slip and slide to your exhaust. You just wanna make sure based on how much noise/rasp you want/willing to handle, that you balance out that openness with the resonators/exhaust cannister material.

i.e. if you wanna go LTH's, its reccomended (to me) to go with the 18" Resonators and the SS cannisters. Those features will help balance out the freedom the LTH's give to the exhaust.

Its like taking a test pipe and welding it together to your headers...It is one peice that connects to your Cat Back Exhaust
