Will the price stay at $895 since I bought the exhaust already, or will there be another timeline?

G37Sam 12-20-2009 05:38 AM

Tony said the price would be 995 if you join the group buy which obviously will have a timeline, if you happen to have ordered exhaust parts previously from him too, you'll get the 100 discount.

kannibul 12-20-2009 11:17 AM

I'm waiting until the Mandrel version comes out...if the price is raised because of no group-buy or whatever, then I'll probably not bother just based on principal. Hell, I might not bother just because of how much of a PITA it would be to change out the headers...I'll have to hear it before I'll decide if it's worth the PITA.

That version is gonna be the same lol
just less welds cause it's a dye

F.I. mentioned that the mandrel LTH's will come with the dies they have on order which will be around Feb (from what I recall), when that stuff was mentioned they said the price would be lowered.

Later, they said that the price now is the lowered price due to it being a group-buy.

That says that either A) pricing will remain lower, B) That the price could raise once the group buy is over.

If it's A), then I'll consider it when I have the money in hand. It'll also depend on sound for me compared with how much of a PITA it is to DIY a header swap. If it's B), then I'll probably pass because mandrel pipes are cheaper to make, so I can't see how they'd raise prices...

F.I. is a good company, and I'm skeptical it's B, just it's not spelled out.

Exactly, I don't want welded up pipes.

Granted, I intend to have them ceramic coated, but, I still don't want welded up pipes, not when there is a mandrel-bended option in the near future.

nogoodname 12-20-2009 01:00 PM

This 995/895 is the price for the dye pressed LTH. it's a group buy and group buys don't last forever. If there was no dyes, price would be around 1400.

blue660r01 12-20-2009 01:03 PM

Who cares how it looks under your hood? As long as they perform good thats what matters.

To my understanding, that's not the case.

995/895 is for group buy now, they make them now, 1 at a time with welds.

The dies are on order, due in Feb.

I do. Welds can fail...hotspots can develop where the seams are (because they won't be smooth...transition from piece to piece creates pockets, etc)

Hey, maybe I'm going overboard with it, but so what - it's my f'n money.

SilverBullet 12-20-2009 01:04 PM

NG, are you getting the LTH?

Well, you misunderstood. The welded one is just a prototype. The dye pressed ones is what he's selling. Ppl who are interested and leave a deposit will be getting them next year. Read... Lol

kdo2milger 12-20-2009 01:09 PM

just PM Tony and ask if he is building one-offs now or just getting the gb list together for february...

he said if he has to make them now he can but they will cost more than the gb price, atleast thats the way i understand it...

I cannot see the shipping cost being more than $40-$60 to any of the 48 lower US states. Anyone who has purchased a Fast Intentions TDX cat back or is purchasing one with the headers will receive and additional $100.00 off of the price of the headers. That will bring your cost for the headers to: $895.00!!! We are asking for a $400.00 down NON REFUNDABLE deposit. We WILL NOT run anyones deposit until we have a minimum of 10 people. I will just keep your C/C info. in a secure place on file. I am confident that we will get to 10 quickly but that is up to all of you. We are on target to receive the dyes sometime in mid to late February 2010. Once we have them, we will start the production process and orders will start to ship in the order they were placed on the list. Once your headers are done, your card will be run for the remaining balance and your order will ship.

We will build them early prior GB but they will look more of a custom deal opposed to a production header. Performance and strength wise it will be all the same.

On another note, we might be going back to the dyno next week to dyno tune the car with UPREV software. If this happens, I will make it a point to try and video the dyno runs. Even if that doesn't happen, we will have videos posted by the end of next week...

Thanks, Tony

We were originally going to sell the headers for $1,300-$1,400 if we were going to have to build them in many pieces. But, we want to get them out there for a reasonable price that is affordable. So we feel $995 is a great intro price and for previous customers $895.00 is even better.

Here is the info

NewYorkJon34 12-20-2009 02:08 PM

So Tony, there's no deadline to which I have to buy the headers right, I have the exhaust so let's say: if I buy them mid to late 2010, the price will still be $895 right?

nogoodname 12-20-2009 02:10 PM

^^^ Group buys don't go on forever.

NewYorkJon34 12-20-2009 02:17 PM

I'm not asking about a group buy, $895 is alot of money, and I want time to get the money together, and not feel rushed to meet some "intro" price deadline.

motoextreme 12-20-2009 02:17 PM

That install is going to be a SERIOUS BIT$%! There's no room under the hood to work. I'm up for a challenge but not for 10 bloody knuckles.

I was never doubting the quality, I love my Fast Intentions exhaust so I know that these will be awesome. I just wanna take my time collecting the money.

G37Sam 12-20-2009 02:35 PM

I think if you have a lift and use a friend's help you can get it done

SilverBullet 12-20-2009 02:39 PM

There is zero space to move around in there.

Apparently Canadians are horse power junkies!

Keep pictures coming and keep us informed

ZeeJay 12-20-2009 09:24 PM

Wow those tubes look nice, good work on designing those! Im really debating on putting down for these considering the smaller gains that other aftermarket headers i've seen put out. Any idea if Berk HFCs and a Berk CBE would be compatible with this?

theDreamer 12-20-2009 09:33 PM

HFC no, CBE yes

resonated test pipes and CBE would come close and a little less $$$. But they say the TQ curve will be greater with the LTHs than test pipes.
