EDIT: THE MIDDLE DAY. you take 5 days (mon, tue, wed, thu, fri) and pick the middle day and you end up with wed. you have 3 in this case due to a holiday (mon, tue, wed) and pick the middle day and you end up with tue. context clues and calendars are great for figuring out when 3 day weeks are possible.

The update is that for all the excitement and 15 pages of comments that these LTHs have generated thus far -- not to mention all the comments pushing Tony for progress updates in the previous thread -- a mere five people have signed up to actually buy. :shakes head: I don't get it. Is everyone strapped for cash due to Christmas purchases or something? Or is this forum filled with a bunch of tuggers who just talk the talk but don't walk the walk? I mean, sh*t or get off the pot, people. And yes, I'm sure some of you have perfectly valid reasons for not pulling the trigger. I'm just surprised that it's taking so long to get the ten people needed for this GB is all. I mean, judging from some of the comments, it's as if many of you have been drooling and chomping at the bit for Tony to finish development on these and make them available for purchase. But now that he's done, all the demand for the product seems to have suddenly evaporated.

I'll tell you guys this much. If I were thinking of developing products for the 370Z, what has happened here would cause me to think twice in terms of trying to figure out how much genuine demand there is for new products. If we, as a community, give vendors a false and inflated sense of demand by clamoring for a product but then not buying when it's time to put our money where our mouths are, we will only succeed in shooting ourselves in our collective foot. Just sayin'

For me personally, I'm waiting for the vid. Money is second to that, though, I'm strapped at the moment due to paying $2K to a credit card in an effort to getting it paid off! :)

Oh, that's right! Thanks for reminding me. I keep forgetting that for many on this forum, the aesthetic element of sound matters more than measured gains. And no, I do not mean that as a snide, sarcastic dig towards you or anyone else. It just is what it is. ;)

No CAT provision eliminates a LOT of potential buyers (in most of the high population states)..Like it or not, the ability to get our cars registered and legal every year weighs heavily here..

A CAT'ed "Y" pipe would ease my concerns..

I just went crazy with my intake/exhaust for the end of the year, having to hold myself back and will probably buy around the time I get my tax refund in. Though with an ETA of February it might just be the exact same time, may as well just throw down 400 now...damn it Semtex, making now want to just throw my name on the list.

Measured gains aren't everything unless you're goal is just to make it a firebreather, and there's other ways to do that (TT, namely)

Also, if it sounds like sh*t, or sounds like a Civic with a fart-can...it won't sell to a number of people...yet, there are some that don't care. Myself, I don't want a RICE car, I want a good sounding performance exhaust.

It'll also depend on how loud they are - that's hard to judge by claim from the manufacturer - a consensus needs to be built. Thankfully there are a few people that will jump on it and take the first plunge.

They can report back on the difficulty of install, how much it cost them to have them install if they didn't DIY, maybe even write up a DIY article....and report back sound level changes, even post vids.


Anyhow...I know it wasn't a snub. For me, and I imagine most people, gains aren't the only thing that drives sales.

Just curious, but couldn't someone replace the resonators in the back section with cats?

That, or like you said, make the X-Pipe have the cats integrated there? (I think that's what you're suggesting)


I guess what I'm asking is that I don't know if there's a requirement for the cats to be as close to the engine as possible or not.
