MAF Sensor Intake/Mileage/Pictures
Figured I'd start one since I always hear about cleaning your MAF and I have a hard time believing it's needed... Took these when I installed my CAI
Stock Intake(OEM Filter) / 75k Miles - They look spotless to me. I'd like to see pics of K&N Oiled Filter Vs. AEM too if anyone has them

Those aren't MAFs, they're TBs

Those are throttle bodies. See the black ring of junk around the butterflies. There is a tiny hole before them that goes to the Air Idle control valve on most cars. This is why they need to be cleaned and yours do need cleaning. They are not extremely bad, I have seen worse.

Now I feel like an idiot for getting my terminology screwed up.

So you're saying the area between the 2 red lines is dirt and not supposed to be there? The edge looked too sharp to me. Is that coming from some oil vent downstream?

Take your finger and push the butterfly open. Bet you'll see a lot more dirt.

Probably should do this on my truck first. It has 3-1/2x more miles on it and has never been done. Might even clear up a code or two on it.
