Is the nismo cat the same as the standard cat?
 

Considering getting a nismo exhaust system with the option of getting the nismo cats that come with it on my base 370z.Does anyone know if the two exhaust systems use the same cat?

I am 90% sure the cat is the same.

Usually these questions can be answered by searching a parts database like courtesyparts.com and seeing if the same part# applies to both configurations.

I would imagine the cats are the same.

Nismo Exhaust - Too Quiet
 

I always thought my Nismo Exhaust was too quiet. I replaced it with the AAM S-Line from the Cats to the back of the Z. Great exhaust IMHO. I think the Z only has one Cat type. Good luck.

The catalytic converters on the stock Nissan test pipes is the same on the 370Z and the 370Z Nismo unfortunately they are not high flow catalytic converters just standard stock OEM ceramic made to Nissan specs. Although the HKS 370Z Nismo exhaust is a upgrade and is less restrictive compared to the stock OEM 370Z exhaust system. Your exhaust note will change some also.

You'd be better off getting a different brand of exhaust. The nismo exhaust is too quiet. Makes it not even worth getting. There are much better brands

My 2016 Nismo has just over 4,000 miles and I have ordered the Fast Intentions TDX Catback. I will make you a great deal on the Nismo exhaust, but you would have to wait until early Dec. PM me if interested

I got a local one,2017 with very few miles.Not looking for a loud exhaust,but if it's too quiet I will look into a AAM axleback down the road.
