Default Motordyne and Canister Heat Shield

I just installed the Motordyne Shockwave exhaust and couldn't seem to get it to fit without removing the Canister heat shield in the back. Now I am sketching out about the fact there's no heat shield there. I'm sure Nissan put it there for a reason. Can anyone with the Motordyne e370 tell me if they still have their heat shield installed? If so, am I going to have to remove the rear portion of the exhaust to get it back on or can I somehow slip it around the pipe?

Thank you

This is common to all exhausts of that type of design.. same with the FI exhaust.

Removing the shield doesn't seem to cause any issues.
