Recommended headers

New to the imports. I have a 16 nismo gonna stay na for a while so which header would you guys recommend.

Jayhovah 07-05-2017 08:31 PM

Welcome to the board.. where in FL are you?

As per your question - I think FI Long Tube Headers are highly regarded... but I also know that there isn't a ton to be gained with headers since the OEM manifolds are tubular and already quite efficient.

Nismo16 07-05-2017 08:34 PM

Gainesville. Thanks for the reply that's what I have been seeing longtube or nothing basically

Rusty 07-05-2017 08:39 PM

Choices are FI, PPE, or the Z1 shorty. These are 3 of the best for making power. If you are planning to change the headers yourself. The right takes about 1 hour if you are slow. The left side will take you about 6 hours of cussing. Been there, done that.

Nismo16 07-05-2017 08:41 PM

Yeah this z1 look good but they are out of stock right now which sucks ***. I'm bout to order stillen gen3s as well once I do that and the headers what should I buy to get the car tuned. On my 5.0 I had a handheld that had tunes is this the same

Go Gators! I'll be up there most weekends in the fall for the games. Looking forward to a big season!

In that case, I would have to recommend the Stillen headers as I have heard the fit can be kind of iffy. =) Hope we can finally get some payback against you guys this year.

LTH's, cbe, and cai with a good tune should net you around 320hp at the wheels. Choices on tuning is UpRev and Ecutek. Ecutek seems to the better one for now.

Nismo16 07-05-2017 08:48 PM

Lol set gonna go stillen then. Yeah it's been pretty bad lately. I'm from Michigan so I also like the wolverines your gonna have your hands full first game of the year as is FSU with bama

Stay away from the Stillen headers. They are no better then the stock manifolds.

Nismo16 07-05-2017 08:57 PM

Lol I know I was messing with ya.

Come here! Let me smack you in the face a few times. :icon17:

Motordyne has a new header which, if it produces gains over the stock headers, looks to be a very slick setup. The headers are "modular" and you can easily swap in either test pipes, cats, or their test pipes with helmholtz resonators.

I was running the fast intentions long tube headers, I highly recommend them. To me they made the car. Mine are also for sale :tiphat:

Nismo16 07-06-2017 06:10 AM

I am one of few that went MD route, the build is of high quality, and the sound with Helmholtz res is awesome, also made great gain by the word of my tuner compared to other Zs he had tuned specially the torque gained. I think I need to dyno the car with one of my friends the same day, he installed Gen3, FI LTH and HKS Hi power to check power difference.

Doing a dyno now would not be helpful...
Only way to get true reading to see what gains they made would have been to do a before install and after install dyno without tune..

Z-Girl 12 07-12-2017 08:19 PM

Z1 shorty all day and go Noles!

Btalont 07-17-2017 12:06 PM

I used Z1 shorty headers..the quality was impressive. I had them ceramic coated..shame they were very pretty but wanted to control the heat. They may be worth waiting for over the Stillen headers based on what I have read.

NismOrly22 01-21-2018 11:56 PM

Running Motordyne Shockwave catback w/ Stillen Gen 3 intakes. Motordyne long tube headers is next in line. Resonators or no resonators?
