Hks hi power vs Tomei Expreme

I have a HKS right now. Would you trade it straight up for a Tomei? I have second thoughts on it being a single exit. I dont know if i will regret going that route.

I need some opinions on this.

Eh - not a fan of the single outlet look on the Z. To each their own tho.

I love the tomei and the weight reduction going single titanium, power gain and price imho is well worth it the $$. Buddy of mine just got the gt haus nice but i wouldn't waste that much $$ on an exhaust. I have the test pipes y pipe and single exit. Sometimes i think its too loud because i daily during the summer here in Chicago... Kinda.. herd the xyz y pipe smooths out the sound in the tomei tho..

I have stock cats, with the Tomei Y-Pipe to the Tomei Single exit. I don't think it's that loud with the stock cats, I've heard of some folks with test pipes, and that sounds out of this world loud lol

Since you are Amuse370z, have you considered the Amuse R1000?

Juan@Fontana 05-03-2017 04:29 PM

Hahaha I would've done the amuse dual exhaust if I had a choice.

Its not the loud that I am worried about, its the aesthetics and resale value.

You know what they say...

Once You go tomei you never go back ... :rofl2:

Between the weight savings and the sound, you can't go wrong. It will be a bit louder than the Gemini, but not unbearable on stock or high flow cats. Once you run test pipes or long tube headers is when it gets very loud for some.

Amuse370z 05-08-2017 04:27 AM

Best decision I ever made going Tomei.

That is all.

Can you elaborate? :O

I've been contemplating the switch from HKS to Tomei as well. I like the refined sound that the HKS produces but would also like the option to be obnoxious with the Tomei.

The Tomei is like 3x louder. 5 k on the hks is likr 3 k on the Tomei.

Dow shifted to 6 k in the tunnel and it sounded like a gunshot/ explosion.

I could not stop smiling when i first picked it up.

I can shift between 2 to 3 k and not wake up thr neighbours going home late at night.

I might be a placebo effect but throttle response seems much better too.

This is very tempting. I think I want a Tomei :(

Gianni 05-10-2017 11:59 AM

I am on my second tomei exhaust because I sold the first one and I had to go back lol. People always complement me on the sound.
