Muffler Delete Sound....But HP needed..
Hey,
I couldn't find exactly what I"m looking for after searching google and this forum for quite a bit of time, thought I would put the question here. I currently run a muffler delete and g3 intakes, and I LOVE the sound/loudness of my muffler delete. I wouldn't mind if it was even louder, but probably not too much louder. I wanted to go AAM short tails exhaust, but I didn't see any HP gain with such, I love sound (AAM SHORT TAILS EXHAUST), but I don't wanna miss out on the 17 whp gain of another exhaust... Do I have any other options? Are there any exhausts out there that have the LOUDNESS of a muffler delete but the power as well? |
Get a Y-pipe to go with the short tails? I mean, the short tails are just a muffler delete, and you've already done that, so I'm not sure why you would switch muffler deletes. The power will come from a y-pipe, not the muffler section.

Maybe see if you can find a take-off nismo exhaust for cheap, then slap the short tails on it? The nismo exhaust is worth like 12hp or something, and the AAM tails are pretty stellar if you don't mind the volume.
I'm waiting on my resonated short tails to arrive, and they will go on a nismo exhaust - I can let you know how it goes. :) |
Short tails make it louder I believe? It's an exhaust. I was planning on going TP as well, kind of want a full CBE though because power so I wonder if any CBE have a loudness like a muffler delete? I like invidia Gemini alot

If you have short tails or your muffler delete, then add a y-pipe, that makes a full cbe.

Just to clarify, muffler delete short tails exhaust and an added y pipe? |

I'm guessing with a muffler delete and a Y pipe, you will be around 5-8 whp gain. If you also do the mid pipe, then expect gains similar to catback (15whp?) But then with test pipes and a muffler delete it will be obnoxiously loud Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
:tiphat:Go Y pipe and you can also try to weld vibrant ultra quiet resonator to short tail or midpipe in order to make the sound cleaner if the can fit in.
