Exhaust setups. Single mid pipe vs dual mid pipe

Hey fam,

This is just a curious question as to why some dual catback exhausts have a single mid pipe rather than dual?

Are there any benefits to a single? Is it louder, do you get more power?

Generally because of money. A well designed system be it Y, H, or X will all make about the same power. But typically a single pipe (Y) will usually produce less power because they are designed for economy rather then power but there are exceptions to every rule. H setups are easy to make but you still need 2 pipes rather then 1. X pipes are generally the best but also the hardest to make.

Depends on what you want your setup to be. Some people like to do Y-Pipe into a single exhaust because of the sound and weight savings.

I personally like the X-pipe because I feel it gives the deepest tone and seems to make the most amount of HP - Torque.
