where can I get some new gaskets?

Chuck33079 12-20-2016 12:28 PM

Any reason why you don't just use hi-temp RTV?

It won't leak if you follow the instructions.

Yep. There is a cure time to allow for the rtv to fully bond. Chuck is there a certain brand you use?

Not offhand, but it's the standard auto parts store kind.

Out of the gaskets you posted, I'd go with the second or third ones. All metal is a good thing. I've had ones like the first Z1 blow out before.

So going with this one, would be fine, right?

Thanks again!:tiphat:

It would work fine, but you can have your car back faster with a $6 tube of RTV and you'll never notice the difference if the shop cleans up the flanges before applying.

Nope. That's exactly the opposite of the right one. Get the second or third one that Zbrah posted.

I mean, it'll work, but I've seen more of the crappy graphite ones blow out. All metal, sprayed with some of that copper spray and you're golden. Otherwise, goop it up with rtv and pick your car up this afternoon.
