Amuse sports cat
I have been offered a used Amuse R1 sports cat for a good price, but being Amuse it is still very expensive even though I am offered it around half the price of brand new.
Just wondering if you guys think it will be worth it. If I use these cats, it won't be on an expensive CBE, havent decided what CBE to get yet but when I go SC soon I will maybe get either Stillen, HKS or FI CBE. I was normally planning on new Berk HFCs which is much cheaper, but if i add a little more cash i can grab these used Amuse cats. What do you guys think? |

Don't waste your money. Buy the Berks.
As for CBE, if you're shopping those three then Fast Intentions is your best option.

Personally I'd stick with your original plan and out the extra cash towards something else. Nothing wrong with the other products you've identified and don't see the Amuse cats doing anything better for you.

You're just overpaying for a part that won't perform any better than the alternatives and you can't even see it once installed. Unless you're one of the JDM fanboys, and are willing to pay double or triple for the name alone.

So why is Amuse a million times more expensive, surely there has to be a good reason?
Does it have higher heat resistance, or is it just suppose to sound better or something? |

Like most JDM brands, the price premium is for the name. There's no additional performance.

Amused sports cat?
Seems like a no-brainer.

Amuse costs more because of two reasons: 1.) You are paying for the quality of reliably durable craftsmanship 2.) You are also paying for peace of mind. Yes there are other companies who offer reliable products. Sometimes these companies get a bad egg once in a blue moon due to some random left-field variable and that one client risks blemishing the company's credibility because even though bad eggs are rare, it only takes one to sully a brand that took years to build. Amuse understands this which is why they take so much extra time for quality control to ensure that each part is significantly more durable than it needs to be. Amuse also treats all of the metals; whether it be titanium or steel. Each item is chemically treated to help increase longevity and reliability. Where other cats might develop a compromised weakness in their structure after years and years of wear-and-tear; Amuse parts do stand a slightly higher chance of outlasting most of their competitors. These differences are slight and in the grand scheme of things make little difference to most consumers. This is why my second reason for buying Amuse is because you are paying for Peace-of-mind. If you confidence in your parts is shaken and your trust in a company means more to you than the time it took to acquire the money to purchase it than in my opinion Amuse is one of the best options for you. Just my two cents -Hunter |

Wow nice reply. Im wouldn't doubt that Amuse quality and durability is ahead of the pack.
But it is also like 2-3x the price of the competition. I don't think I would spend that cash on it unfortunately, but if I won the lotto for sure I would. Might just stick with stock cats for now and go for a nice exhaust. |
