I had a cold air intake right at the bottom from Under bumper area on my eclipse and I used a Air filter waterproof "sock" and it worked wonders, Never had an issue swalling water and I went through pretty big puddles, mind you I still slowed down etc when going through puddles, but Rain, bring it on I never had an issue, even in intense rain storms etc and I was driving it in Winter too, with all the icing rain etc you can bring.

Have a link to those? Gonna need some sort of way to prevent this pretty soon.

They're called "pre-filter" or "hydro shields" etc. and most companies make them and call it their own personal names. Injen has some, K&N, AEM etc. Its meant to prevent large amount of humidity to reach your filter and "water clog" it to the point your engine would be starving for air, thus, preventing "water bogging" your engine. its not perfect and not meant to be an underwater snorkel like some people found out, but it enables you to drive normally without having issues in storms or winter etc.

Not much water gets on them and it still happens every so often. Not even low to the ground either (stock springs). 100% chance after going over a puddle I'll be getting the issues, but even if it's just driving, it will happen e.g. driving for 30 minutes it'll happen.

If I'm driving for about 10 minutes, then nothing happens.

^^^ I had the same issue. Parked a couple of hours in the rain and I even still had an OEM hood. When I started the car, the RPM couldn't go higher than 3k. The car jerked and died. They do sound louder than Stillen G3 tho.

It hardly rain in SoCal but this still unacceptable so I switched to G3.

Is G3 the better option? Might have to get rid of my injen and get G3, but then I'd have to put down more money on a retune... :|
