Exhaust drone at low RPM (HFC swap?)
I just recently upgraded my 2016 Z with:
Stillen Gen 3 Intakes Tomei Expreme Headers Stillen HFC Ark Grip exahust UpRev tune When I open it up above 2500rpm, it sounds great: throaty, mean, and pretty damn loud. The power improvement is great too! But when I'm idling or especially when I'm around 1700-2300pm, there is substantial low-frequency drone. This makes taking off from a light or cruising at 50mph in 6th gear way louder than it should be. I'm trying to decide whether I should swap the Stillen HFC(s) to FI Resonated HFC(s) or whether I should be in the market for a different exhaust to solve the drone. I don't mind spending the money on different HFC if it solves the problem; same for exhaust. Last edited by zfever; 09-27-2016 at 07:29 PM. |
