From what i've seen it can work with the stock Y pipe, but most upgrade to the Tomei, Motordyne XYZ, or other aftermarket Y pipe for more power. It will not throw a cel. Be warned it is loud even with the catalytic converters.

Honestly, any single with test pipes is out of this world lol. Heard a 370z yesterday with soho y back (non Resonated) soho Y pipe. Berk test pipes. LOUD AS HELL. But still sounded crisp. Resonated TP's and a big resonator with the single cat back would sound really clean and not as loud. But I would rather just stay non resonated with stock cats and a tune. When I get another 370z I'll be going soho single again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

There will always be some drone because it is almost like a straight pipe. It is loud even with stock cats so you will hear drone when on the highway or even in the city possibly.

I have the tomei test pipes, y pipe, and catback. The car laid down 319whp and 275wtq with the stock intakes. I installed z1 motorsports cai today which gave the car a deeper tone. It flat out screams. I love mine. The Tomei is a work of art. The weight, power, sound, performance, and build quality of a true 3in. Titanium exhaust puts the tomei in the #1 spot on my list. I'm in the no f $!#$ given category. I'm all about performance. If you can afford the tomei y I'd gof that route. I had cel with the test pipes but that was fixed when I got my tune

I've watched numerous vids and yeah, it's kinda raspy pending the RPM band. Top of the band it sounds like a banshee, I think around 4500-5500 is when the raspiness comes into play but someone who owns one could better answer this.

You don't necessarily need to replace your y pipe.I added the motordyne xyz with resonator section to mine. It was louder with the stock y. Hope to get art pipes installed soon. Maybe the loudness will come back.
