You must have missed AAM's axleback S-line muffler. Its on their website.

Most of these have been discussed 4,000x on this forum, if you search you'll find a lot of info on axlebacks and short tails.

Ok so i just got my beluga resonated axle exhaust, it has been installed i must say it very deep and a little loud at idle. When I press the peddle wow it is loud, and when I floor it OMG .....it is crazy loud all in your ear and the sound bounces off of cars and buildings its a big head turner and can be intimidating when behind cars on roads or highways. I think its to loud for my taste, but it could just be loud in car and not very loud outside of car ? But then again I do have hfcs. I need someone to drive my car so i can listen how loud it is.

This is with an otherwise stock exhaust?

Tanabe
Megan racing
cautupwitdm and Ladybleu09 like this.

This is exactly how the S-Line Short Tails are. I just installed these today (well yesterday now). The entire car is stock and the Short Tails give it a wonderful mellow tone, not too loud at all outside. The cops would not bother you all with this axle back if the rest of the exhaust is stock.

However, it's quite loud inside the car to the point it's making something within the plastic interior panels vibrate and rattle. Now I need to hunt down these rattles and figure out a way to damp them.

I took off my beluga axle back and just put in my original exhaust back in with the washer mod now it sounds good, instead of using 4 washers i did 6.

I would either put the Beluga back on or leave the exhaust completely stock rather than do the "washer" mod. That sort of mod is too much of a teenage ricer or redneck type thing to do if you ask me.

It reminds me a kid I knew back in high school that took a large screwdriver and a hammer to punch a bunch of holes in his Ford Escort muffler to make it sound "cool"...
