Stillen Gen 3 Vs AAM CAI's

So the big cold air intake question, which one is better? Everybody wants Stillen Gen 3 but why? What makes the Stillen so good? Does anybody have the AAM intake installed? What are the dyno gains you got on your CAI? Feedback pls! I'm looking to buy either test pipes, a CAI (If worth it), or AAM midpipes fyi... help me make up my mind!

The best bang for the buck will be the test pipes. I like the resonated fast intentions test pipes. Between the intakes I'll put it like this. I have three friends with 370zs. Two of us have the stillen intake, one has the z1 and one has the aam. The only one with fitment issues was the aam and it was pretty bad. One of the pvc hoses would barely reach the motor and the other one would not reach the motor. He had the motordyne exhaust art pipes plenum and aam intake with ecutek tune and made less power than my buddies with the stillen intake fast intention exhaust test pipes and ecutek tune. If I were you I would go with either z1 or stillen but after seeing both the fitment issues and how little aam seemed to care about the issues for my buddy I won't be buying any of their products. I hope our experience helps.

I have the Z1,,,don't have number's yet-but it doesn't require an immediate tune (maf's in same position, they insert from bottom instead of top)...i have the regular kit;performed miner trimming on the upper support,to ensure no rubbing or kinks in silicone pipe,,,also filter's lay nicely on front crash bar.
Z1 offer's a more aggressive kit that requires modification of the crash bar/claiming 5hp. more gains than the standard.
Agreed with Mysilverz on the TP's;probably 15+ HP gains-regardless of who makes them.
Mine are F.I.res TP's,,,just be prepared to wait just a while after you order.

MySilverz, I actually had fitment issues with my driver side Short tail and They wanted me to send back the pipe and as soon as I had it in transit they wound send me a new one, bottom line is that through their fault I had to have no tailpipe for a few days so they told me to bend it till it fits... which I did, but I was very upset about it.. still doesn't fit perfect but it's almost perfect. But about the test pipes, If I go FI resonated with I keep a deep growl with no drone and rasp? Between the Full AAM catback, Test pipe, or stillen CAI what's the best bang for your buck.

I don't get this obsession with fast intentions on this website. Yes they have good customer service but their test pipes will take 2 months and hiss and not be as deep/ awesome sounding as ART pipes! Highly recommend art pipes my 370z sounds like a crazy v8, such a deep growl that you don't get w other test pipes. And no hiss!!!

As mentioned previously.....best bang for buck will be taking out the stock cats. I have BERK HFCs....but would have opted for some Motordyne ART Pipes if I hadn't gotten a really good deal on my HFCs.

Stillen and Z1 are the most common ones people install and the general feedback is they all work. My Stillen needed some small work to fit just right but no real problems. What makes stillen so good? I wouldn't go that far, it's just been around around awhile so people are very familiar with it, there are few if any problems reported. The thing is the stock air intake is pretty near the front to not suck in hot air and flows ok enough that ANY intake won't make a noticeable difference.

Z1, FI, and Stillen are all good manufacturers with good stuff. So are most places are with respect to breather mods, it's only when your looking for rarer items where people have run into trouble. The love of FI from some members almost would make you think their giving out free handies with each purchase. The reality is that they often have a wait list for the exhaust but they will keep you happy in the meantime with good customer service.

The best bang for your buck is K&N drop in filters, non-resonated test pipe of your choice, garageline mid pipe, and AAM short tail. A used nismo mid pipe with local pickup would be another budget option. Anything else will be alot more money for little more bang. But then most people care alot about looks and sound just as much as more power and you can't put a price on qualitative upgrades.

Hey guys sorry I have the AAM Y-pipe not mid pipe. For those who contact I'll reply to your pm later tonight. Thanks and sorry for the hi jack haha

The fast intentions resonated test pipes have no drone in the car and keep the deep tone. I know because I went from a set of non resonated to the resonated. I never had an issue with a check engine light being thrown ether. I'm not say the others are bad but the fast intentions test pipes are great and it's not a bad price either. I waited 6 weeks for mine but only put down a $100 deposit till they were finished.
