Is the 25% thing still applicable?

I just ordered a short time ago, and yes it is.

Are there any decibel readings for the 12inch and 18 resonator exhausts? just interested to know how they compare.

Any chance this question can be answered?

We have never taken a comparison decibel reading between the two different resonator sizes. I can break it down in a scale for you from 1-10.

(1) Being the quietest which is the 18"

(6.5) "Roughly" would be the level of the 12"

(10) Non resonated "Loudest"

So you see the 12" resonator is slightly biased towards the louder side and not quite in the middle.

I hope that this helps.

Thank you, Tony

will i hear a pop with the 12 or the cf 12?

DarkJak 09-02-2012 02:01 PM

So what'd 18" and LTH be? 12?

I did a Sound Qualification Test on a track in AZ.

My setup: LTH's + 18" Res + SS Cans.

Ended up registering 93.8dB.

Apologies in advance if this is a poorly phrased question, but are these relative noise levels (as quoted above) referring to the cabin noise or how loud the exhaust is outside of the car?

From what I understand, the resonators either decrease or increase the exhaust noise inside the cabin depending on the size (or existence) of the resonators. But do the resonators (12", 18", or non) significantly influence the loudness or tonal character of the exhaust from the outside? (I realize there might be slight differences just because the piping is a bit different, but is it material? Can you tell the difference between a 12" and a 18" resonated exhaust when the car just drives by, or only from inside the car?)

Thanks for anyone's input.

I'd like to know this as well as I'm trying to decide between 12" and 18" Resonators.

I have the 12 inch res with non res test pipes. It sounds awesome, no rasp at all, no popping, and cruising on the highway you can barley hear the exhaust, it only under load when it really comes alive.

Elmo370z 11-02-2015 09:42 AM

O yeah, and cold starts are loud as faq lol

Great! Thanks Elmo.. I've been leaning more towards the 12" Resonators so your input is greatly appreciated.

I'd still like to hear from the people with the 18" resonators... What are your thoughts?

Elmo370z 11-02-2015 01:11 PM

Its very very quite if your running stock cats. Under load it is little bit more aggreasive than stock, still with a nice tone. If mated with long tubes it will wake up the exhaust notes alot more. If your not the one who will mod anything and doesnt like anything way to loud 18 res would be your best bet
