Three things to consider: 1) dynos show that they don't add any power; 2) Many owners stay away from oiled air filters; 3) bob the oil guy has tested K&N filters and while they flow better than other filters they aren't very good at filtering the air.

2. There are many more oiled air filters in use than dry filters. 3. Yes they do flow better and as for "not very good at filtering air" that's a load of ![]() You know I first remember when this misnomer about oiled filters inability to filter the air well first started.....it was when the first manufacturer of those thin rubber filter covers first hit the market about a decade ago. All of a sudden all their advertising propaganda suddenly sprang up overnight. And like the usual thing that happens...some armchair uninformed reader picks up the advertisement and then starts to propogate it all over the auto forums...and then pretty soon the false misnomer becomes "the truth" as a result of just the shear volume of spreading it all over the web. For those looking for a non-oiled filter, this company has a great reputation. They make a very nice intake for the 370Z, also.

I have them in mine, I don't feel any power but the response is better. For the price I am happy with the result.

Refer to existing thread on same topic for HP dyno results...

At WOT I do feel/hear a difference... however this could be only a placebo effect. The most sensible aspect is the engine smoothness while downshifting. Definitively a nice & cheap addition to the car!

look in the general discusiion area, a guy there did a before and after dyno with K&N drop ins. Got about 4-5 hp gains at different rpms but no loses. So for $100 bucks you cant go wrong as you will also get better throttle response. Also if you get a CBE and do the UpRev tune later, the tune will probably figure in the different intake airflow (and exhuast too) and do even better. Id love to see a before dyno on a stock car then a dyno on the stock car with only the K&Ns with a UpRev tune (tuned for only the new filters) to see if the tune would improve the intake even more.

Maybe the hp gain is negligible, but MPG-wise, it's alright. I used to get 11-12 days from a tankful; since I dropped a K&N in, I'm getting a full two weeks' worth. I must admit I didn't notice a power gain, but in these times of expensive gas, a couple or three extra days on a tankfull is O.K. with me. BTW, I paid $60.00 for my drop in filter. I guess the $100.00 you spent refer to a "cone-shaped" one.
