Default Exhaust rattle

I don't own a 370 , but a G37 that shares the same test pipes/HFC as you guys. I thought I'd post here since the userbase with aftermarket exhausts is much greater than the g37 forums.

I recently installed resonated test pipes to an Invidia Q300 catback. Hiss was there, but expected. However, I just switched to a Stillen catback that has a Y-pipe utilizing a slip joint on one side. I am now getting a metal on metal rattle at 1800-2000 RPM. I checked the U-clamp that tightened the slip joint. I used a stethoscope to hear for any potential leaks around the slip joint and nothing. I've removed any heat shields that could possible even touch the piping, nothing.

Any ideas? I've stumped 2 local exhaust shops already.

pretty much any exhaust has that little rattle in the 1800-2300rpm range.

it's pretty much just a resonance point i feel.

I'm having a tough time accepting this. The several G37's/370's I've heard in person, have not had this noise. Some with freeer flowing exhaust than mine (non res test pipes to straight piping) .

Do you have any example youtube clips showcasing this noise on a different G/Z?

i have non/res and straight pipe setups i use on my Z for the last 50k miles. around that rpm range you posted i can hear it a little.

sadly in most of the videos i have it doesnt show up. typically it's under load and slower accel. when i'm getting on it you move through that range fast enough it doesnt show up.

i dont think i have any videos running low rpms to show the "rattle" but i got plenty of other videos lol
