Help with Idle Air Volume Relearn Procedure
Hello all,
Two weeks ago, I replaced my twin-ram intakes with the stock ones that came with the car (with some Mishimoto pipes). On cold start, the car now idles around 1500rpm instead of 650-ish rpm. It's been creeping up over the last few starts, I first noticed the high idle a few days ago at around 1000 rpm. Throttle response is also very poor. In light of this and some research, I decided I needed to do the Idle Air Volume relearn 2003-2011 Nissan 350Z - 370Z Idle Air Volume Learning Procedure | Nissanhelp.com Problem is instructions don't seem to work. For instance, a MIL/CEL light is supposed to blink during the procedure. Mine does not, despite following the instructions to the letter. Does anyone know the proper procedure for a 7AT 370z? Car is tuned with Uprev. Regards, MK |

That is the correct instructions, we did it on my car today but make sure you time the steps. I think we messed up the first time by turning the car off after step 9.

I think thats what you were asking for. ;) |

I've searched for this problem on the forums before posting of course, but as JWillis says, those are the instructions everyone uses. Perhaps having an AU model car is an issue? |

I've had much better luck using one of the big web search engines - Bing, DuckDuckGo, Google, &c - and adding "site:the370z,com" to my search string. Eg: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Idle+Air+V...%3Athe370z.com |
Ok, just tried again following instructions in the other thread.
I'm assuming "ON" is on without the engine started. In this state, the battery only reads 12.0V, not 12.9V like it says under "PREPARATION". I'm assuming this is why the procedure doesn't work. New battery? |
On is pushing the button twice without you foot on the breaks, engine doesn't start. 12.9 is when it's running I believe.

Are you using a stop watch?

I am using Stopwatch for all procedures.
Volts are between 13 and 14 when running. 12.0 when engine is off but button set to ON (two pushes) I've done an ECU reset this morning, short distance drive and everything seems a little better. Could be all mind games though eh? |
I am trying to do the reset but not working. I used the clock on my computer so was sure it was enough seconds. for step 6 (and 7a, b) do I do the 5 pedal stomps while the car is ON or OFF? I couldn't get a blinking CEL but I had a solid one show (but I think it shows anyway if it is ON)
I made sure it was at least x seconds but if it was x+1 would it throw it off? seems hard to get exactly |
