O2 Sensor
So, installing the exhaust, somehow either by the installer or Nissan themselves (banking on the installer) one of my O2 sensors is stripped and I need a new one.
Is there any potential issue using a universal O2 sensor, as opposed to paying out the *** for an OEM one from Nissan? |

Take the bath, or try finding an NTK unit in the aftermarket.

NTK are OEM for Nissan. If you can find one in the aftermarket, it "should" be less expensive.

Thanks for the input, I wasn't sure if I should take the risk on a cheap one. So I guess I'll bite the bullet or I'll see if I can salvage this via warranty, unlikely as it may be. Installer is denying it was them. I could fight this, but I don't know if it's worth it.
So, to re-cap, my car is now grounded until at least Wednesday and I'm probably out an extra couple hundred on top of that. All-in-all a great experience so far. |

If the sensor was Fd up before the installer did it, why didnt he say something then? It is his responsibility. Have him fix it or tell him you will report him to the better business agency and that you will tell all forum members (not just ours) that his shop sucks and not to go there. Trust me they dont like that. I did that to a local guy here and the next day I got a call from him to get things right. Nissan wont touch this now.

sorry to bump an old thread... but Knives, where did you end up getting your replacement sensor?
I'm installing my FI Hi flow cats myself, and one of my o2 sensors was stripped on the way out. I know I didn't do it so I'd bet who ever assembled it at the factory had a few too many beers during lunch and crossthreaded it on the way in. Probably the same thing that happened to yours. Courtesyparts has one o2 sensor listed for this car, they want $145 for it, but not even sure its the right one. |
