Im not trying to argue either, only stating facts.
But here, brand new 02, smashed with a hammer - res stayed the same. had a hell of a time doing this while filming, I actually made 6 different videos but kept droping the phone etc. I hit this sensor 40+ times before the last video. |
Lets not get side tracked here :ugh2:
Thanks for the info EVOHUNTER |
Ok so the 2 back bolts on each cat broke free easy.... the other 3 on each cat near the front on engine bay side (front of car) look harder to get to.... but I noticed these I think I can do from under the car through the wheel well. But the top bolt on each cat look very hard to get to. I don't want to go through the engine. Is there a way to do it from under the car ?

There is one bolt hiding that you can see on the top. Has anyone removed that bolt from under the car ?

1/2" gun, , couple long 1/2" extentions (24-36"), swivel joint with the socket on that, attack it through the engine bay.
If you want to tackle it from underneath, youll need to heat it up, 1/2" rachet, with a crows foot, then put a pipe on the end of the rachet to give you more torque. |
Ok so I got the passenger side bolts on cat free, now on driver side all bolts came out except on through engine bay ... it seems to have a black metal pipe which I think is the steering column. I can't get my extentions through there, that pipe won't bend either..

Try to remove the driver side intake so you have plenty of room to see where you're attaching the swivel socket.
That makes a hell of a difference. Your half way there. :) |
Done !

The hardest part of taking out the stock cats were the top bolts one on each cat on top facing the engine bay. And all bolts came off nicely but one bolt snapped and bolt but not to bad. Now for the sound.... the cold start was a little deeper then stock, once at idle it sounded like stock with a little throaty sound. Now once the car settled in it still sound a little quit for me but sounds good when I step on it, not to bad on freeway still sounds like stock just driving at freeway or driving in the city.
