Hello,
I am going to be picking up used Z1 intake plenum and used K&N typhoon intakes tomorrow for a really good price. (I woulda preferred Stillen Gen 3's cause they are actual Cold Air Intakes, but for the price, I'm paying less than a barely used Z1 plenum and no shipping and no removing the core of mine to ship out.) If I was to install them, I would have Berk HFC's, the intake plenum and the Typhoon intake, stock cat back exhaust and stock headers. I have seen some people saying that their cars run a little lean on this setup without a tune. I understand that getting a tune is necessary to getting the full potential out of any bolt on. I just want to know if I will be putting my engine in danger by bolting these on before I am able to get a tune. Thank you for any input you can provide. I did do a search but I found similar combinations and mixed comments on needing a tune or not. and then I found a bunch of people arguing about the effectiveness of individual parts because including so many part titles returned lots of results. Thanks again, KBC |
