Default Stillen Headers

Hi Guys,

I'm supposed to have these installed Wednsday and retuned on the 23rd. Question is does the middle port look small? I thought these would be bigger. I grab a few more pics tonight I took these quick and just noticed the middle port looks small than the other 2? Also the collector looks small? Whats the stock size?

Were you able to do a before dyno so we can see the gains once these are installed when the tuning process is started?

So after driving home and to work this morning , it's it possible the exhaust tone is quieter? LOL the ton is different but doesn't sound as loud? It wasn't loud before. I found myself driving a bit faster than normal as I drive on tone and feel of the car and notice that my MPH was up and the tone was lower. Also other than that he throttle felt more responsive. I can't comment on the lower end TQ loss as I haven't had a chance to test it. The strait away I can normally mash it right before I get to work had a few cars on it . Will try later on my way home tho.

Ok I apologize , for some reason I loaded in Sebs base tune to log for him this morning on my way to the dyno , got to the dyno and I can't load back in my previous tune? I sticks on Map 1 ( kill) I can't not switch maps to get to map 4 so the dyno numbers I'll post first are on Sebs base tune. I really wanted to get just a header swap dyno only on my old tune and we if I added anything to the 302 I was making ugh

What's your opinion of the headers after driving the car around for a bit?

Other than the fact that the driver side hit the steering shaft and I had to get Z1 motor mounts to it wouldn't hit. They are worth it, I pick up 12 WHP over stock manifolds and retune for the headers. full review here.

I also made 10 WHP peak over the stock manifolds.

So to go into what happened with the header hitting.

So after the initial install Wednesday (1/13) every time I would turn RT at any speed above 10 MPH I would feel very bad vibration in the steering wheel. So I took the car back the shop on the following Monday and we took some pics he suggested I get stiffer motor mounts and see if that solves the issue. I went and ordered he Z1 motor mounts that night which are adjustable hoping they would help. In the mean time over the next few days and a 2 emails(multiple pics) and 2 phone calls into Stillen to see if they had any issue like this before. I had not received a phone call till Friday late afternoon after 5pm( The car was at the shop again getting the mounts installed). They basically told me that they aggreed with the pictures I sent them and that the drivers side header was devective. They offered to replaces it which was great but the said they wouldn't pay to have it replaced?? That would fall on the Vendor I bought them from? Just not sure how that is fair that Kyle at Import parts pro has to pat $450 because one of their headers are defective? Below is the break down of the clearence before the mounts and after the mounts, Pre mount install was 3MM after was 4MM.
An much props to Jason at Motive,
Email from Jason

I wanted to take this time to email you the information I was able to get for you today. I will be breaking this down with the math on how close this header is to the steering shaft. Take a look at here Before anything was touched. ( PICS are in order in from the email)
Just 3.175mm in space! ( From the headers to the steering shaft.

After the mounts and a little adjustment on the rear mounting bolt for the exhaust yielded a gain of 1.245mm.... Adding the two blades to the right into our new total of 4.220mm

I FINALLY got some clear space on the HWY last night going home and did a 3rd WOT pull off the on ramp and WHOLY CRAP
It pulls so much harder than with the stock manifold.

Just because you go with long tubes doesn't mean you make more power
