Installed this guy today. It's ummm....... Tame. Maybe I'm overreacting coming from the complete opposite end of the spectrum. I'll post mounted pics and videos soon. It definitely sounds good, but it quiets it down maybe a bit too much? I can't help but think long tubes or Z1 headers, possibly with just a TP would liven it up.

The AAM Midpipes look to give enough room to install an electric, or any, cut out. That way you can have tame and juvenile on demand.

I didn't feel like creating a new thread, so I'm gonna dump it here until I unlazy myself and create a journal for this car. I went out to the drag strip again yesterday while everyone was getting $hitfaced for St. Patricks day. I was hoping to hit low 13's @ 105 mph. I know the car can go faster, but conditions were not the best. It was about 71 outside and 85% humidity on my best pass. I was running on stock tires with plenty of tread and 32PSI per tire. I made no PSI adjustments, literally just drove up, turned off VDC and went. Bradenton Motorsports track is 19ft above sea level. DA was calculated at 1020ft and a relative density of 97%. I was able to hit:

13.466 @ 104.67mph with a 2.134 60ft
13.572 @ 104.85mph with a 2.21 60ft
13.604 @ 104.35mph with a 2.204 60ft

I was averaging 13.6 unless I missed a gear or bogged the launch. I hit 104.88 a few times, not quite 105mph. My previous best with just intake and exhaust was a 13.695 @ 102.79mph.

A normalized time for my Jan run is 13.624 @ 103.296 MPH
A normalized time for my last pass is 13.328 @ 105.756 MPH

A normalized fastest trap from Jan was 104.2mph
A normalized fastest trap from last night was 106.3mph.

I would say the 15whp I gained from a tune is definitely showing up in my 1/4 numbers. I improved by 3 tenths and 2mph from just RTP's and a tune. I was hoping to see a true 13.3@106 mph last night, but I'm happy with my results. DA correction at least tells me its perfectly capable.

On another note, adding headers, upper/lower manifolds, and those new filters from Z1 and a retune, I think I can crack 13 with my crap launches and possibly hit 108-110mph on stock tires. I'll post up a video of that pass later tonight. I'm at work shamming on the370z.com.

When I got mine, I put up a Youtube video, and a thread.

I have since added non-resonated test pipes to my AAM mid-pipe (with that same S-Line axleback) and I love the combo.

But yes, just the s-line axleback with a mid-pipe is a mellow sound. Sporty, but not loud like most exhausts we're all used to.

The above video does not include with test pipes.

I do have resonated TP's and it has a nice tone to it, but it isn't very loud. I wasn't expecting short tails loud, but it's really muted in the cabin. One good thing is no drone or rasp at all.
