nube exhaust question

I had a red 2009 and never messed with it. After foolishly letting it go, I have a 2015. hooray. Anyway, I was wondering, does the addition of the Nismo exhaust system add anything hp and performance wise to the base 6 spd model? I'm guessing the aftermarket system so many like on the forum will be the better and cheaper route. Does it offer anything over stock? Thanks for the help and patience.

Hello from a fellow Missourian!

The Nismo uses an H-pipe rather than the base/sport Y-pipe and deepens the tone a bit, however there is no real volume gain.

The Nismo's higher factory HP comes from a tune and the exhaust. So without a tune I'd expect minimal improvements, especially since it is not as free-flowing as an aftermarket system.

You can source a good one for around $500, but at that point I say save a bit more and get something that will really improve the sound.

I debated getting the Nismo, but went aftermarket (Bassani) and have zero regrets.

go call up Fast Intentions.

amazing sound, good price, good gains, and best customer service.

cat-back will run you $1130-1590 depending on options you chose and then shipping of course.

One thing you left out......the dreaded long wait period. My first choice was FI but decided on AAMs short tails and mid-pipe. Gives me what I was looking for.

:iagree:

If you don't like the wait, pick up a used one.

Great advice

You folks know your stuff. I have been on Fast Intentions web page and yep, I like what I see and the prices are not bad. As far as wait time, are we talking six months, a year? If less than a year, I can handle that. I will soon be retiring and got nothing but time (I'm not that old but its a long story that involves not being politically correct in the world of education)

typical wait time is 10-12 weeks.

each exhaust is hand made and the demand is super high for it.

the demand itself shows how great of an exhaust system the FI exhaust is.

the wait isn't too bad and in the end it's worth every day of waiting. the FI exhaust can't be matched in any category.

worst case you could have just bought one used if the wait was too long lol

That's not so bad

I can handle the wait. I need to order a rear spoiler for my Z first anyway. Like you all said, for the price and what it does, the wait is worth it. I am loving driving a Z again after being out of one for a year.
