HKS Dual Hi-Power VS. Stillen/F.I
Hey all.
I'm really interested in grabbing one of the HKS Dual Hi-Power catback exhausts. But being over in Australia i don't think anyone here has one that i can litsen to. My main concern is Volume and Droning as my father also drivers the car. I have been in a car with the Stillen catback and berk hfc. It seemed to be pretty quiet when cruising but when you open it up it would make some noise which was nice! I'm thinking maybe the HKS catback WITHOUT hfc might be the way to keep the noise levels down IF the hks is indeed a loud exhaust. So i was wondering if anyone in internetsland has heard/been in a car with the HKS and also a car with the stillen or FI catback. Could you give your opinion on both? e.g. in comparison of droning... noise levels ect. Cheers guys! |

Look at the 6th pic down:
HKS HI-POWER exhaust installed and review Those resonators are tuned to emlimnate the resonance between 3k and 4500k RPM where the VQ naturally has some drone. I think that post has some vids also. Hope that helps. |

I am surprised that no one has chimed in with thoughts. I really cannot comment on the HKS due to the fact that I have never heard one in person on a 370Z. What I can tell you is that I installed our TDX cat back on a 370 6MT this past Tuesday. It had our stainless steel mufflers and 18" resonators. He kept the stock cats on the car and I have to tell you it is the quietest one I have been in yet. This specific combination I had never heard until that day. If you like, please check out our exhaust here: TDX CB LINK: Fast Intentions Now the video on that page contains everything I am telling you about with the exception on 12" resonators. When we prototyped that version I felt it was quiet inside the car. Just keep in mind, the 18" version is even quieter. I hope that this gives you some insight and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask... Thank you, Tony
