Cold Air Intakes living in Florida?
While deciding on whether to get Stillen Gen 3 CAI or the Gen 2, I decided on the later. It rains DAILY here in FL. Check out this pic from a downpour yesterday. Just a little puddle lol
If you were living in this rainy climate, would you still go CAI long tube? Last edited by TriNismo; 08-14-2015 at 04:29 PM. |

I would stick with the Gen3's
The amount of water to reach the Gen3's is about mid door on the side and well IF water reached that high? You've got bigger problems. Gen2's imo are not all that great and so your better off slapping some K&N filters and staying stock. In to your question? Yes I would just stay away from injen style cai for obvious reasons. Either way its your choice. Last edited by Trips; 08-14-2015 at 04:56 PM. |

I ran Stillen gen 3s in Fort Myers with no problems at all before the car was supercharged. They are up in the bumper, they are not going to see much water.

I live on the East coast, in Melbourne.. about an hour SE of Orlando. Besides the constant rain, we have poor drainage here, so when it pours the streets can flood up real quick

Sounds like Savannah, Ga. I sold my 1990 300zxtt to a guy here. It lasted 3 months. It was driven into a flooded area and sucked water up the intake. Car was totaled due to motor being hydro-locked (bent rods). I would have bought it back and stuck a new bullet in it had I known about it. Makes me so sad still today. I miss that car. It was my dream car.
