Purpose of using Titanium is that Titanium is the best material that takes heat and lower the temp the fastest. So as hot air or engine hot air goes to it, it lowers the temp fastest. If you don't like the burned color, I can offer not burned version. It will just be chromed polished.

Actually real reason is it is super light weight and looks good. This is why ARC does their stuff with titanium. Also same with lots exhaust systems.

The reason the exhaust is done is because its a crap load more tubing and you can save 20-30 lbs when its a full titanium exhaust ,look at the C5 and maybe later Z06's for example They used titanium exhaust in order to get just a little bit more weight savings but didn't gain much. |

Looks badass. Don't listen to the haters. ;)
However, I think the biggest factor here is that they are short-ram intakes. Although it will be cost-prohibitive from a manufacturing standpoint as you are on a smaller scale than big names like Stillen and Injen...create a similar design as theirs and you will have an instant knockout. I commend you on your recent work, though. You are putting out some very cool products. |

I want one that just hooks up to the stock air box, Ill wait to see if you can get it ti work. Want to keep it CAI. If running smooth pipes is better than the ribbed then why dont they just make them that way?

maybe you can do a CF air box of the stock intake + ti piping and call it a day? :)
|
no CF for me I want to keep the price down.
|
yet you're looking at titanium? lol :D
|
I know I wish they would do just a pipe to the airbox with regular piping to keep costs down but then I guess no company would want to spend time producing an inexpensive product and not make much money from it.

You can do your own to the stock box with 2.75 silicone tubing. Smooth, No accordion, less heat pick-up, bigger ID, pick a color.. You'll need (2) 2.75" ID 45 degree elbos and a foot of 2.75" hose + 8 clamps. Get a few joiners (mine are custom) tap in a 1/2" pipe nipple for the PCV hook-up and you're done.. http://www.siliconeintakes.com http://images49.fotki.com/v1501/phot...MG_1834-vi.jpg |
should try to make some heat shields like the R2C's intakes and then you got something

arent the Z-Tubes popular in the 350z/G35 crowd?
so make something similar |
I was wondering if the 350 tubes would fit on our intakes? For me under the hood priority is: functionality, cost, looks. Now if I can get all three then great. My car is blue so Im going with "DA BLUZ" color theme and blue intakes would be cool. Already have a custom blue interior.
|
doubt the tubes would fit
|
Modshack where do u get your tubing from? Auto store doesnt have any here.
