How to go DUAL TOMEI:
Parts Needed: 1 x Y Pipe 1 x Mid Pipe 2 x Mid Back Exhausts Optional Items: ART Test Pipes (Will explain later) Heat Wrap (DEI Titanium is the best) 1" Diameter Titanium piping 3" outlet Vibrant Ultra Quiet Process: In order to go dual Tomei you will need to install your Y-pipe, Mid Pipe and Test Pipes (ART Pipes will eliminate the possible Drone). The Rear Sections will require that the mid pipe side flanges to be cut off and an angle slice be cut into the pipes (note: the passenger side will need to be flipped). Once the pipes are cut you will need to weld them together and then re-weld the flange back on. You will need to bolt up the exhaust and attache the hangers. What you will notice is that the hanger for the passenger side is facing the wrong direction. I would remove the flange and re-weld it in the correct location and orientation. Once this is complete just align and you should be good! If it is too loud you can do the following: -For Drone, use Helmholtz Resonators such as ART testpipes and Heat wrap the Y-Pipe, Mid Pipe and the new welded section. The added weight and dampening material will help reduce the drone resonance. Another option is to weld in titanium 1/4 wave pipes on each side (use the 1" titanium piping) length will be determined by the rpm range but a good starting point for a 2500-3200 rpm range will be around 24-28" pipe segment. You can come out from the main pipe about 2" and then run parallel to the main pipe. -For overall Loudness you can just heat wrap the exhaust sections as stated above. Or you can add the Vibrant Ultra Quiet Canister into the Mid Pipe. The Vibrant canister is good for about a 10DB reduction... However, I cannot confirm if it will reduce drone. Expected traits from going from single to Dual: I expect the tone to become deeper and the possibility for more drone. It may stay as loud or come down in loudness depending on the exhaust velocity.

Note about Titanium Exhaust Systems:
DEI does NOT recommend wrapping Titanium exhausts. The alloys used in the production of titanium exhaust systems tend to be thin and are designed to dissipate heat quickly. By wrapping the exhaust, the additional heat can make the titanium alloy turn brittle and prone to premature cracking. DEI recommends using alternatives such as our flexible heat shields when seeking to reduce the heat on titanium exhaust systems |
