FI Exhaust powder coating
Hey guys,
This is pretty simple. I hate polished mufflers, but I just bought a FI exhaust. I want to powdercoat it to match my wheels (a dark gunmetal). Can anyone shed some light on whether or not your FI mufflers (Only the very last section, not the x pipe or anything) gets hot enough to interfere with regular powdercoat? Thanks. |

I watched some you tube video where they mentioned you can use plastidip. Haven't tried it myself but it's cheap enough you can try it before dumping $300 to powercoat the mufflers.
I had mine ceramic powder coated which held up just fine. Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgiMNQAoBd0 http://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.php?t=298234

When I had my invidia gemini, I powdercoated the muffler, pipes to the tips and the tips. the pipes inbetween the tips and muffler burned off, but the muffler itself was fine.

I had my cans ceramic coated. Tony mentioned that powdercoating would get dinged up more from road debris.
