FWIW, I had a set of CNT resonated TP's I picked up used, and they worked very well. I can't imagine there's all that much variance in the resonators various companies are selecting, and they're all going to be in the same location (with the exception of the ART pipes), so I think you'll still be happier with any resonated TP's over none. I say, see if you can find a set of resonated TP's used (i.e., on the cheap) and give it a try. You can always re-flog them on ebay or here if you aren't happy... good luck! EDIT: Sorry missed that you have a set of ART pipes coming. You should be happier with the tone once they're installed. Let us know how it works out.

Yeah I feel like I did plenty of research on this site before ordering them and no where did I read a line like yours above. It really is just ******* horrible. Everyone keeps using the word RASP which in my opinion is not the right word for that awful sound. Had someone mentioned that anywhere I would of stayed waaaaaaay clear of them and ordered HFCs instead. Atleast I can be a bit optimistic with the ARTS, should be here in 2 days |

Making my way down narrow side streets punctuated by speed tables was murder because I'm always slowing down and the location created an echo effect. I used to do everything in my power to avoid that RPM range... which is impossible. Quote:
It could be that the FI has something different going on to minimize it, tho'. Does the FI have a different Y-pipe or maybe an H- or X-pipe?

I know exactly what you are talking about.
I had an Akrapovic for a month. Was great. Got Motordyne ART pipes . And it was the worst thing ever.. 6 days later i sold the whole setup. Apparently some exhausts dont pair well with test pipes or whatever. Its not hiss what people claim, Its the disgusting rattle that sounds like you have drilled a hole in your exhaust.

I just installed my Berk TP's and Borla dual exhaust which uses an H-pipe to replace the factory Y-pipe and am hearing the same ridiculous noise
