Berk HFC dyno results
also posted in the general section, figured I'd post it here under exhaust, particularly because people come to this thread to find out about results with exhaust mods..
Before Berk HFC's http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...6/DSCN0165.jpg After Berk HFC's http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...6/DSCN0216.jpg 15whp gain, was unable to obtain TQ numbers due to the tech being a dumbass. |
Nice gains!
|
yeah, not too shabby! I see you're waiting on berk stuff, hfc's?
|
Thanks for posting this! besides the nice gains, how do you like the HFC's sound wise? I have them too (with stock exhaust) and can feel the performance gains but I can't stand the sound. Especially after hearing the Stillen CBE on another forum members Z...

HFCs provide some amazing gains.. "feel-able" gains.. those are good numbers. We've seen the same result.
JB1, I know Monday the STILLEN CBE's are going on sale, keep an eye out if that's a consideration, should be a good deal.. :) |

The sound of the HFC's is to raspy (or dare I say, Ricy...) for me. I heard the Stillen exhaust with stock cats and that sounds sooo good, real nice deep sound, not raspy nor ricy... oh and this is heard from inside the car, I don't care how it sounds from the outside, I don't hear the outside when I'm driving :icon17: |

No, all joking aside, I think CBE + HFC combo is too loud for me (yeah, yeah, wuss...) |
Hey.. if you can find classified deals and stuff is in good order, nothing wrong with that. :) Just be sure it's not welded or has some other permanent modifications to it.. each Z can be a little different, can cause some headaches trying to move welded exhausts around.
And I would imagine there would be something around the holiday season, not sure if it's as aggressive as what's happening on Monday, but we definitely try to do what we can to give the holiday shoppers a chance to spread things around.. such a tough time.. |

Nice gains! Thanks for posting up your dyno. We took extra design considerations knowing that many of you will run Berk HFC's with our exhaust. All of the videos you have seen of our cat back have Berk HFC's installed. It's easy to make an exhaust sound great with the OEM cats, not so easy to do it with HFC's at the same time.
Mike @ Doubledown motorsports has put several thousand miles on his system with HFC's installed. You can hear the inside & outside sound clips here: YouTube - Berk Cat-Back 370Z Exhaust Exterior Sound Clips YouTube - Berk Technology Cat-Back Exhaust In-Car Video |
Nice gains! +rep

I think that the Berk HFCs with the stock exhaust sounds the best. I just removed an aftermarket exhaust (Invidia) after two days because I didn't like the low frequency rumble.
|
Hey guys, I'm new to this forum.
Was just wondering how I access pictures that you have posted such as Red370z's berk hfc dyno results at the beginning of this thread? Some piccies come up embedded in the posts (not this one though), but some do not appear at all & I cant find any links. Btw I have a base dyno run & another with stillen g3 intakes that I can post if anyone is interested, however they are all in kW due to our metric system which is a little frustrating... |
...must...refrain...from...putting...HFCs...on...c redit card... :icon14::excited:

Ahh.... That could be a possibility cos I'm at work at the moment. Cheers 4 the reply I'll check out this thread later on when I get home & see if I can view the results then.

It was a 15whp gain, with an approximate 12ft/lbs, the HFC's by far, are the best bang for the buck as far as money/power, get them asap, you'll love the gains/sound, it really hits a sweet note between 3500 and 5500rpms, sounds like a damn indy car, haha.

Do berk hfc cause any CELs to go off? I wonder how they would sound paired up w/ my DT-S......

So it's just a bolt on, plug in, and go?
|
Yes. However it can be quite a hassle to get the stock cats off....depending. some ppl have issues and otyers dont. But still a easy install. Just reset your ecu afterwards and let the car "learn" the new changes
|
Oh ok. But I heard that hfc usually need the O2 curved bung so that it won't throw off any CELs. Do the berks have those?
