issues after test pipe installation.
Hey all, I'd like to start off by saying I have searched the forums for this issue but I cant seem to find a clear answer and call me needy but I'd like a more personal response.
Anyways, I just recently installed the aam non res-test pipes. Very little issues with the dreaded demon bolt or anything. Overall very clean install. At first start up I noticed a rough idle and sitting around 30-50rpms lower than it should have. No CEL yet but after scanning found one for intermittent or random misfires. Nothing specifically calling out a cylinder. (Forgot to write down the exact codes prior to this so I apologize) I did the ECU reset by way of throttle pedal and by leaving the car off with the neg terminal of the battery unplugged. Still no changes. Then I drove about an hour and my CEL popped up, same codes were given and I'm getting a 1k idle. I'm assuming the ECU has tried to adjust a:f and cannot. I'm assuming there must be an exhaust leak somewhere down the line and maybe I didn't tighten those bolts as hard as I thought I did. So I plan on putting her back on the lift tomorrow or asap. Is there anything else I should try? Or am I even in the right ball park here? I'll get those codes as soon as I can but for now I'm just too frustrated to go down stairs. Thanks in advance! |

What other mods do you have? if you have 2 breather mods you should be ok but if you have 3 you need a tune... thats why I havent installed my test pipes yet...

What codes are you getting? Without the codes. We have no idea on what to tell you.
Question; Did you use a air impact gun to remove any of the bolts? Before you removed the O2 sensors?

Sorry for the late reply, but thanks for all the quick help! Haven't had time with work to.go grab the codes, the only breather mods done is the gen3s, some silicone upgrades to surrounding hoses, and then these test pipes. I think I'm going to run with my stock cats for now until my FI cat back comes in. Then I'll throw it all together and get a tune.
