Exhaust question
I want to right off the top say that I have NO IDEA how exhaust work.
My friend has a Honda Civic with Greddy Evo Exhaust and I LOOOOOOVE the sound it makes. The purrrr sound. I want the same thing on my car. I see that I can buy it off the website for $1400. My question is, Whats the average price of installation cost? I know some of you pros might say "Install it yourself" but I am no way capable of doing this and don't wonna risk fking sht up. Also, is there any other exhaust that sounds like the greddy with the warm purr. I've heard some nasty ones that some hondas have and I dont want those fart cannons. Edit: Also, if I install exhaust, Do i have to get a new rear bumper? |

Have your flame suit on. You're clearly new to the forum, which is great, but try a quick search and you can find tons of info in the intake/exhaust section. YouTube is also a good source to hear different setups on the 370z. know that your car is a 6 cylinder, not a 4 like the civic, so regardless if it's the same brand, you're not gonna get the same sound as your buddy. A Fast Intentions catback exhaust with the 18 inch resonators is probably for you as you're looking for something not too loud but has a nice purr. Stay away from axle backs as they are very loud and that's not what you're looking for. Hope that helps!

Also, you will not need a new bumper. Installation costs vary by shop. If you have any friends that are mechanically inclined, i urge you to learn to install your parts. You get a much better sense of what the car is doing and why. Exhaust is easy, take off one pipe and put on the new shiny one.

Check the Exhaust Sound data base.
370Z Exhaust Sound Clip data base Some videos may not work but you can still search for them on youtube for some recent ones. |

The great thing about the forum is there is lots of to notch advice...the flip side is you have to have thick skin as some will flame newbies for they don't know what they don't know. Anyway, you have one of the best...if not the best sounding exhaust for the Z right there in LA County. Get a hold of the folks at Fast Intentions in Simi Valley and you are good to go. You can find a shop to install, I recommend Specialty Z in Chatsworth. Good luck!

These threads about cat-backs are exhausting.

Exhaust installation is a very simple process. Expect around $50~$100 at a local auto shop. I wouldn't pay more than $100.
And if I were you, I'd look into Fast Intention TDX exhaust. Definitely one of the best performing and sounding exhaust for the 370Z hands down. |

FI and find an experienced installer.
Was washing my car yesterday. Kid in a mustang drives by, waves at me and I reciprocated. He then makes a u turn and stops by and we talk a bit. Compliments the car and says "I've seen you drive around. I know it's this car because of the plates. The car sounds good. What exhaust do you have?" I said FI hfc and a cat back. Then he goes "It shoots flames!" nuff zed.
