ECU reset after CBE install?
Is there any benefit in resetting the ECU after installing a catback alone? I've read people do the reset after a CAI install, but I can't find any info about resets after CBE installs. I've had mine on for a week now and I'm wondering if the ECU has adapted already or if I should do a reset.

however i did not disconnect the battery during the cbe installl... for the cai i feel its necessary, but not for the cbe... reason being is you are disconnecting the maf meters for the cai... and you dont have to disconnect anything for the cbe...i.e. 02 sensors...

It's probably already adapted if you've driven more than 50 miles... Fuel corrections are stored in EPROMS in the ECU. They are constantly being overwritten with new data supplied from the MAF and 02 sensors. A full disconnect just dumps the memory and hastens that along a bit.. |
