Bye Bye Family.... :-( (Pic and tear heavy)

I was hoping this day would never come but sure enough it has come sooner then I ever expected...As some of you know, my Z was in an accident a few weeks ago. I got the call today and they totaled it out....:shakes head: I dunno what I have planned for the future but I know a Z will be in it. Not sure when but I'll be back. For now, buying a beater car with cash and just going to enjoy the extra income. Such a sad, sad day for me though...

Well crap man. Sorry to hear that it was totaled. '13s and 14's have a nice little price drop , plus you get the cool LED DRLs :D

mults 08-13-2013 06:39 AM

Sorry for your loss, but please remember that we are all "family" on this forum and share in your pain. By all means, make sure that you hang around, because, one day, you will be reunited with another Z, and the misery you are feeling now will be a distant memory.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do, and "see you around, brother".

XiP 08-13-2013 06:42 AM

RIP
sorry chris :(

wheee! 08-13-2013 07:34 AM

Sad news brother.... hang in there and remember that it's just a car and hopefully no one was hurt. You'll be back in a Z again one day!

theDreamer 08-13-2013 07:40 AM

Sorry to see this, but a quick question. Is that how they towed the car, with the rear wheels on the ground?

GaleForce 08-13-2013 08:06 AM

What a shame.

Stay in touch with the forum.

fonzo179 08-13-2013 08:09 AM

Whether you like it or not, you can't get rid of us that easily. ;)
You can pick your nose, you can pick your teammates, but you can't pick your family!

Seriously though, man, sorry to see your Z go. Stay with us, brother, we got nothing but love for you here. Z-Car junkies like me whom plan to keep the Z as long as HUMANLY POSSIBLE :icon17: will be here for a long time!

kenchan 08-13-2013 08:52 AM

sorry chris. :( from the looks of it, it didn't seem too bad, but the airbags deploying and possibly bent frame made it a total loss, huh?

hope you get yourself a nice car soon. :) GL with your next choice.

kenchan 08-13-2013 09:46 AM

Only the steering wheel airbag popped of all of them and that was it but still an airbag. No frame damage, quoted half an hour of frame work. Thats what blew my mind on the estimate.... They said the lower subframe/Engine cradle had to be replaced, the rad support and a couple other things that I don't really believe but nothing I can do....

No, I just snapped the shot while they were still hooking everything up. The rear wheels were put onto a dolly also.

Scone 08-13-2013 12:24 PM

Damn I'm sorry to see this happen. Always a sad day when you see someones pride and joy be stripped from them -__-

Streetlife 08-13-2013 03:18 PM

Hate to hear it Chrischhorn. Keep your head up man, you'll be able to find another one, just create another project plan when your ready, it'll be fun! Nothing wrong with sitting on some cash though, always good to do if you can!

Wonka2581 08-13-2013 09:02 PM

This shi* is depressing....

V8Killer 08-18-2013 02:30 AM

Yes it is. Sorry to hear about your loss man but happy you are well. I was looking forward to seeing your nitrous build take off since I can't continue with mine with me being overseas. I hope all is well and when your ready I know you could probably sell some parts for some extra cash b/c there will be guys reading this waiting for that moment. Let me know if your letting any of the nitrous parts go. Take care buddy.

IMWEZL 08-18-2013 05:53 PM

Man still sucks to see this. I was out in the field all last week. My wife had planned on co-driving this auto-x season but if we can't find a dedicated sitter for Sundays you are more than welcomed to co-Drive in C Stock.

Thanks for the offer. I really wanna take you up on that but it just wouldn't feel right driving someone elses car. For now, H stock in the Subaru will have to do :roflpuke2:

A lot of my parts are already gone. Really the only thing I have left is my Diff with the 4.08 gears and Quaife installed (but I think I have a buyer for) and the hotchkis sway bars. Due to the limited amount of time I had to removed everything (2 days) I was unable to get off the Momentum headers..... :shakes head:

fuct 08-20-2013 02:19 PM

how did that suspension member snap like that?

Did the famous DE.50 manifold come off? Lol

Still unsure. The guys at the shop think that it was a pre-existing crack in the spindle arm. They said because of the dark outlines in parts of the arm meant that there was an existing fracture or possibly an imperfection from factory. If it was sudden then there would have been no dark outlines in the metal.
