Mine has arrived as well. Just so everyone knows mine weighed in a 6.55lbs on a certified scale. OEM is listed at 4.7lbs so this will be an increase in rotational mass. Probably not enough to notice but those who watch every ounce might like having the knowledge.

Daelen, anything special about the install on these or is it simply unbolt and replace? I seem to recall some discussion a while back about a clearance thing but I can't find the thread.

Thanks as always my friend!

That was only for the dry sump version, this is an oem replacement. Did you open the packet? You will need a damper installation kit it install the damper properly. Thats my 2 cents

I did open the packet, mine contained nothing specific to the install of this item. I know the dry sump version needed a lot of work but I was pretty sure there was something to watch on these as well. It's not a terrible job to do, just wanted to check with him just in case. Thanks for the info.

Unhappy

I got foot surgery on the 27th. The surgeon said that recovery is around 3 months. I got a lot of stuff to do before then. So hopeful I'll install mine sometime in March.

Seemed pretty straight forward to me. The damper was already assembled, so the only thing that you need to do is measure the crank OD, then measure the inside of the damper. Subtract one from the other and if you're within spec, then you're good to install. Not sure what you would do otherwise? One would think that it would only be a problem if the tolerance was too loose.

For me, the hardest part of the job was getting the craftsman pulley puller to stay in place so I could pull the old pulley off. The ATI damper install kit looks like a fancier pulley puller to me, but I don't have one so its just a guess.

Removing the radiator didn't leave me with much space so rather than trying to tap the damper on with a plastic hammer, I pressed it on by tightening the crank bolt until it bottomed out.

So who has installed one of these yet? I am interested to get some initial feedback and observations. Is noise, vibration, and harshness improved? Throttle response impacted? Smoother idle?

I am mainly interested to know observations from those non-boosted (since that is what I am), but any observations will be helpful.

I finally got around to installing mine. Didn't need a puller for the OEM pulley. It fell off after I broke the bolt loose. Motor seems a tad bit more well behaved. Idle seems to be a little smoother, although I did change my oil at the time so it'll take a while to see how much of that is fresh oil and how much is pulley. Haven't noticed significant throttle response changes. Perhaps a small bit slower, but not enough to care. Seems to go through 5500-7500 easier but that could just be me. Gonna let a friend drive it and see if he notices anything soon.
