Guess your taste differ than mine. I picked up a bottle cuz a co-worker's house is right across from the factory. Drank half a glass and haven't touched it since. Felt like I was drinking whiskey filtered thru my bbq smoker.

Are you sure you didn't have something else? Like an Islay or something? I'm just shocked somebody that likes Balvenie would consider Ardmore "peaty and smokey" to the degree you are insinuating.
